Blu-ray sold 50% of movies just within the last 11 weeks of this year out of the entire number of titles sold since inception to the end of 2007:

I for one, have been buying up BDs like crazy. Although it was a great format, HD DVD is D-E-A-D, people. Time to move on...

I was pleasantly surprised by No Country For Old Men as I thought it was going to be lame. It was a very good movie.
There Will be Blood was brutally boring for me but I did think Daniel Day Lewis was great.

I rented the 'No Country For Old Men' Blu-ray, and to be honest I was glad I didn't buy it sight-unseen. It was OK, and I thought the performances were really good, but I couldn't shake the feeling it had all been done before and didn't contain the kind of originality nor engage me like I had expected, considering it won best picture. I could have sworn that Jones acted this same role before. Among movies of the genre, I found titles like "Fargo" more engaging. Perhaps it's because I found very little I could personally identify with in the characters drawn in "No Country For Old Men".

No one said HD DVD wasnt dead on this post...why bother with the HD DVD is D-E-A-D comment?
just wondering...
It's good to hear that a Hi Def format is moving up finally...
Quick question...what is the best built combo player available (or coming soon) at the best price?

I think wolfen was addressing richiro33's rolling eyes sarcasm. I could be wrong though.
There are a lot of people who take any good news about Blu-ray adoption pretty hard, regardless of the demise of HD DVD.
As to your question about combo players, probably the Samsung BD-UP5000 is the one to look at. You should be able to snag one at $450 or so. Personally, I'd avoid the combo player thing and keep your present HD DVD player and just go for a Blu-ray standalone later.
