Why does DRM even still exist? As soon as the next "uncrackable" DRM model is released with the latest wave of HD media/MP3's it is cracked in a matter of days/weeks. These large companies spend alot of time and effort developing new ways to try to keep people from copying media to other mediums. News Flash: IT DOESN'T WORK!! Why don't they stop wasting time and effort on something they simply cannot do! If something can be done in software, it can be UNdone in software. It is not absolute, it's been proven time and time again, nothing is uncrackable. If something can be encrypted, it can be decrypted.

They have to keep trying though. To not only protect the movies they own but income as well. They can't just throw in the towel and make it easy for everyone to copy their content.

That's what they have done with MP3's at Amazon and a few other places that sell DRM free music. Let's just skip all the futility for movies and just move to DRM free movies.

I agree, DRM free music is becoming the norm on both Amazon.com and iTunes and both with success. Hopefully this will result in the movie industry to follow and remove unnecessary copy protection and region coding as well.
