I have I am Legend on pre order from Amazon.com

I am also waiting for
Sea biscuit
The UnForgiven
The Assassination of Jesse James

I can buy these from the US and get them shipped to the UK for less than what I'd pay for a current SD release in the UK.

Hard to tell for me what will be my last HD-DVD title bescause there are still so many I want to get. But I'm surely buying the very last HD-DVD release: Twister.

For me I will keep my eyes open for any HD DVD bargains like CC 50% sale. But I am eyeing up that Samsung dual player at BB. It is still sitting there for 599.00 and waiting to see if it dips any lower. I mean they are coming out with a firmware updtae for this player. I will buy Twister, since I have it on SD DVD, so I am going to double dip what I have on SD DVD I will look for on HD DVD. I did buy The Kingdom, but it is a combo disc so I am good there.

wii-lite... Warner's Twister - while it may be the last major HD-DVD film released for the North American market, it will NOT be the actual 'last' title forthcoming on the format. As I said in another thread today, their are some less-known film (and classical music) new HD-DVD releases arriving into early July, as well as possible OVERSEAS releases remaining from various distributors. I've noticed that the DUTCH market for HD-DVDs has more forthcoming titles, particularly.

Also, remember to check possible HD-DVD releases from other countries, notably Japan, France, Germany, Spain, Great Britain, etc.

For me, just as long as there are good deals for HD movies that I don't have I'll keep buying them. Like most people I Am Legend will probably the last newest movie I buy, but I see a lot of good deals on ebay and other websites that will buy soon too. Unless Dark Knight is released but I doubt that. hah!!

Luigi,

I use amazon.com. For HD-DVDs they have some good prices compared to what we have to pay over here.
They have a number of films for around $11.95 which converts to around £6. when you add postage to this you're talking about £9-£10 total.

The thing to remember is not to go above a total price including p&p of £17.99. Even one pence over will incur a customs charge. That in itself would not be to bad, but the post office will add another £8 on top for paying the VAT on your behalf. Keep below £18 and there nothing to pay. I get around this by buying films one at at time.

My copy of Seabisuit arrived today in total cost me about £11.
I have I am Legend on pre-order - this cost me around £13.

Luigi,

From the HM revenue site - "Import VAT - if the value of the goods is £18 and over"

The "value of goods" includes p&p. Amazon.com allow you to change payment into GBP so you can see the value in pounds before you confirm your order.

I got Beowulf a couple of weeks ago - inc p&p paid £14.75 (think its gone up since then). No charge on arrival.
Seabiscuit today ~ £11 again no charge on arrival.
