I just picked up The Kingdom,Batman Begins and Van elsing for 38.00. Most of the stock of HD DVD movies CC had was almost gone. I was hoping to pick up The Matrix Trilogy, but it was way gone.
I think we have seen the last of HD DVD movies in the big box retailers.

I went to CC today and picked up HD DVDs of both The Aviator and The Unforgiven, for $12.50 net + tax. My local BBuy only has "30% off" currently for their remaining HD DVD stock(!), so I'm hoping they will soon lower them to $9.95, as some people have reported seeing at select BB stores in California. Note: BBuy has had MANY more of both format's hi-def discs in stock than CC (in my part of the Houston TX area).

Hey Hendrix it won't be long before your BB packs the remaining HD DVD movies and ships them out. That seems to be the rule of thumb with BB now.

Luigi2k8,

I have friends who regularly buy laserdiscs at used record shops, usually for a few bucks apiece, with decent selections in each shop. On-line, the selection is undoubtedly greater. If that's the case with laserdiscs, I have no doubt you'll be able to buy HD DVDs in good condition for many, many years to come.

But, yeah, when retailers are out of stock on new HD DVDs, that's it. Almost nobody is producing them anymore, so there comes an end to everything.

Just got back from the local CC in Buffalo NY. They had all the HD DVD's just thrown in a bin marked 50% off. After digging around I was able to pick up the complete MATRIX TRILOGY for $40.

Luigi... another good source for movies (DVD, HD-DVD, Blu-ray) is eBay's sister site - HALF.COM (with fixed $2.99 shipping - no inflated postage rates allowed). I've purchased several titles on various formats from this site for many years.

You sign-in with the same member ID and password as eBay's main site, and they will use the c.card you already have previously given too (like Amazon). Click on the MOVIES tab (center of top menu) then choose the format from the drop-down side menu, hit search, and all of the seller offers are supplied. You can then click to change the list with the LOWEST PRICES first... and there you go.

Exactly BB has HD DVD at 30% off...I'll try to go to CC, but I'll doubt that there will be any good titles left...

Just got back from CC and picked up the kingdom and the departed for $15 each. They had a good selection of titles but the original prices are ridiculous. Like Hendrix said, go on ebay or half and you'll find good deals. That's where i'm gettin most of my movies. As for best buy, the best buy in san diego sent back all their hd dvds. I'm surprised some of the BB at your cities still have them.

i picked up Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Adventures of Robin Hood and Phantom of the Opera for $12.50 a pop which wasnt too bad. Mostly picked over by now, but they did have a few copies of Heroes season 1-sucks I'll need to rebuy that along with season 2.

They're also clearancing their players, which I really need to get another for backup for. Sucks since Im moving soon and really need to save some $$$, BUT I also dont want to end up with a useless movie collection in a few years

Has anyone tried deepdiscount.com Their prices look really good, and there is free shipping on most orders.

Hendrix I just checked out Half.com and they have some great prices on HD DVD's BUT!! They don't seem to ship to Canada as I cannot enter in my Canadian address. What a shaft.

If someone is able to ship to ship to Canada let me know.
