Is this for real? Is it the DVD2 that was discussed on this forum a few weeks ago? Man, there are going to be some real confused consumers out there...

I don't think this is DVD2. It appears to be a relaunch of HD DVD. They didn't talk about any type of features other than a 60GB ROM disc being the standard format. Hmmm, seems to me though with Blu-Ray already being accepted by the majority, it's gonna be an uphill battle just like before. Hopefully their marketing campaign is a little better this time. They're gonna have to crank it up a few notches this time around.

They took this old NEC press release

Yeah, it's got to be an April's Fool joke. There is no way Toshiba is restarting HD-DVD on any +,-,= or x (I don't have division sign on my keyboard )
