I was watching LOTR in HD on TNT and it looks pretty amazing(vibrant and crisp). I don't have the full 1080p, but my 1080i is working just fine for me. Looking forward to this and other big titles to be released in Bluray!!

1080i is the best you can get from digital cable I think.

It looked and sounded amazing. I think I put a post out about this last week. Anyways, 1080i looks as good as 1080p if you have a sreen size of 50" or smaller there really is no major diference.

I have found that most things on TNT hd are 4:3 images streched to 16:9 which I think look terible. When will people learn to stop streching things

KungFuTaco, is right. Though it looks good it still falls short of what it would look like if it was on Blu-ray, IMO. It looks like a good upconvert to me.

Discovery HD looks incredible even on my Panasonic 720p plasma. ESPN and ESPN2 look great also.

Yeah, the best looking HD Channels (IMO) are:
HD Theater
Discovery HD
ESPN
Mojo
Music HD
NBC
and sometimes History HD (half of the time the programing is "stretched out SD"
The worst channel HD signal is from CBS, is nice when the image is not much in motion (talk shows and such) but when things on the screen get moving (specially football and other live shows with "busy" on-screen content) the signal is considerably pixlated.
The most ironic thing about CBS's HD quality is that they brag to use Sony HD cameras and technology.
