Ok so what about John Maclean in Die Hard? Oh by the way they're remaking Ben-Hur as a TV series...
'Ben-Hur' rides again as miniseries
CANNES — David Wyler is dusting off the family chariot to remake “Ben-Hur.”
Wyler, whose father William helmed the 1959 classic Oscar-winning feature starring Charlton Heston, is producing the new version as a miniseries with Alchemy TV.
Christian Duguay (“Coco Chanel,” “Human Trafficking”) will helm the $30 million project, which is due to start lensing later this year.
Announcement was made at Mip TV only days after the passing of Charlton Heston, who won the best actor Academy Award for his portrayal of the prince who becomes a slave only to regain his freedom in time for the memorable chariot race sequence.
“We’ve got a joke that this is the family business,” Wyler told Variety. “In my mind this is dedicated to my dad and Chuck. We think it’s a great way to keep his memory alive.”

What, no Lt. Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen), the best, coolest big-city cop of 'em all?
And I'll second Det. Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Portier) in "In the Heat of the Night"?
Worst? How about John Wayne in "McQ"?
John

John I just watched Bullit on HD DVD this week (horrible video transfer by the way) and I gotta say Steve McQueen was a cool cat. My first time watching him after wanting to see him in a movie for a long time. Next up is The Getaway with him also but probably not for a couple of weeks.
How about Steven Segal in Out for Justice?
Wait, wasn't he a cop in Marked for Death also? I actually liked that one!
"Who did it the white boy Hatcher?" :p

Regarding the picture quality in the "Bullitt" HD DVD:
"Remember, this film was shot almost entirely on location, and that can be murder on the cinematography. I think both the SD Special Edition and this new high-definition version are probably as good as the original print from which they were made and as good as current technology will allow, but don't expect the most spectacular image you've ever seen." --Some film reviewer guy

I've gots to agree with John on Bullit -- Steve McQueen was the bomb! My personal favorite is probably Dirty Harry but the worst would be Martin Lawrance and Will Smith in "Bad Boys", IMO!
Another good cop team, IMO, is Spacey, Crowe and Pearce in "LA Confidential".
PS: Glad to see another thread on worst/best of topic. These threads have proven to be quite entertaining and enjoyable to contribute to, as well as reading other peoples opinions. I hope to see more threads like this. Thanks to Falcon for starting this thread and not starting another Hi-def thread!
Thanks Falcon and keep'em coming!
