HAHA Bladerrunner1 you are too funny... Not a fan of Star Wars I take it. Oh well, It's like fourth or fifth on my list, not my first two choices...

I am playfully ripping that movie for fun. I am infact a HUGE Star Wars fan bud. I grew up in the golden age of the films and they rocked my world. Even Jedi at the time. I just look back at them now with 35'ish eyes and in my opinion,"Jedi" just doesnt cut it anymore for me. I think of what it could have been(in my head),and" my version" of Jedi would have been an extension of the tone and feel of "Empire". Maybe even a little darker. But I am in no way "Ripping" your choice because That is not my right to do so. I was just having a little fun with ya. "May The Force Be With You." fellow nerd.

Have we decided what THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME is yet? And who in the hell is going to crown it?

**However, with yours and Chris's remarks, it's clear we're here to turn a constructive thread into trash.**
Tim,
With the almost non-stop criticism you dish out on these boards, you should be able to take a little friendly ribbing. If not, well:

Chris,
I don't have a problem with dishing out criticism or taking it when it's friendly, joking around or constructive. What I don't like, and probably what others don't care for, is when the criticism is arrogant and pompus. If you want to joke around with me on my taste in films or any entertainment as Eddie does from time to time, I'm all for it for it.
Just like all these threads we've had lately on Best of, Worst of, my ctiticism is directed at the entertainer or film and not at the poster. Like everyone on their Bill Paxton rant, my criticism is directed at Bill Paxton and not Josh, Love or others. I haven't laughed at, named called or made look like a fool for another persons taste in film. Now if it's something between you and I, you have always made snide remarks at me from day one on my choices of entertainment. You always come across like the guy that owns an iMac and scoffs at anyone with a PC. Look at this thread for example, you're the guy that came in here, had to mention my name and then post a little sarcasm. However, I didn't post anything directed at you, therefore there was no reason for you to post your sarcastic jab at me. Now, if you wanted to joke around with me as Eddie did, I'm all game and enjoy a good luagh. I could have said something about your choice of "2001", as I think it's the most boring, long winded piece of crap ever made, but I didn't mention a word.

Tim,
My innocuous post wasn't even intended as a jab of any kind, friendly or otherwise, just an observation that you had, in fact, chosen my pick for worst film of all-time (American Beauty) as one of your favorite. As John writes, it's always interesting and amusing to see how different people's "best" and "worst" lists can share so many similarities. I made no implication that your selection of AB reflects on you in any way. You're the one who read something into it that wasn't there.
I was completely unaware of this "history" between us. It's news to me. I thought we got along fine, and I enjoy most of your posts here. Sorry to hear it isn't so.

tim,
i have to agree with chris on this one. he wasn't really attacking you. plus, you two have ganged up on others plenty of times, so more often than not, you two are buddy-buddy. let's not lose perspective here--the real chodes are the blu-ray lovers who haven't stopped asking inane questions about what blu-ray players to buy (answer--none of the above). chris long brilliantly stated -
Oh yes - thank you for saying this Chris! Some people here (you know who) take a simple film-criticism and turn it into a 'personal thang'.... making a thread's topic turn into a SOAP OPERA.
As for 'ganging' up on others, anyone who cares to review this message board for the last few years, will see some multiple 'gang-ups' by Tim and Eddie against others - sometimes for fun, other times for their SOAP OPERA. And then one or the other has to make a 'political' statement too (usually Eddie).
And for the record, I said A.Beauty was "NOT the BEST movie of all tim". Tim said I thought it was 'mediocre'... evidence? Again, that's his soap opera in action. However, my opinion of this Best Picture winner is only a little better than Chris Long's, but I can think of other films that are even worse than AB.
And I did include both Godfather films (CHOSEN BY TIM! to his credit) in my opinion of GREAT choices for the BEST movie... but, but, but woe unto me for briefly disagreeing with Msg Bd DICATATOR Tim Raynor in saying that A.B. is "NOT the BEST movie of all time". That criticism was too much for the emotional Tim.
P.S. 2001 is one of the greatest films ever made - not a boring moment in it. Every time you watch it, your mind is so engaged in THOUGHTS about 'this and that'. I am still amazed at the special effects and photography of 2001 - which I own on HD-DVD.
