interplanetaryspy, I could be wrong... but I don't think the BH200 has many games worth playing either. Then again, I don't own one and have no idea what kind of games it can play. So correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, apparently the LG BH200 can be updated to profile 2.0 so if it gets done it WILL be playing games off bluray discs. So there. :p

I believe I said something to the effect of why would I buy a gaming console as my DVD player, when it can't really be used as a gaming console? I never said I wanted to play games, I just said that, if I bought a PS3, I'd expect that there would be something worth playing. Since there isn't, and now there are actual stand-alone Blu players in the same range, there is no need for a PS3.

Profile 2.0 is only needed for online play. You should be able to play games like "Battle for Narnia" on disk 2 of the Narnia movie without any problems. Although I haven't tried it, I've heard good things about that game.

FYI...

> BioShock is headed to the PS3 - is exclusivity dying?
This is great news for the Sony console, as BioShock was originally an exclusive for the Xbox 360 and PC. - READ MORE thru the link above, followed by viewer comments.

Not really. Every single multiplatform title released to date has been inferior on PS3, and there is a good reason it is an inferior hardware gaming wise.
How inferior is PS3 next to Xbox 360? So much so that Xbox 360 runs PS3 code faster than PS3 does. The latest GRID fall out(a hyped Xbox 360/PS3 game that runs on SCEI's PhyreEngine, but the developer confesses the game runs faster and better on Xbox 360. In other word, Xbox 360 is running "Built for PS3" code faster than PS3 does) has most hardcore PS3 fans speechless.

On November, is going to be two years after the inception of the PS3 and the Wii, and three years after the XBOX 360...
We can all agree that the best system overall, is the XBOX 360, followed very, very closely by the Wii and way falling back, the PS3
. The XBOXs keep having problems with the RRoD, the Wiis are in shortage, the the PS3s have the "blu-ray challenge" built into them.
IMO, the main reason why there are problems with the PS3 is that it was rushed, that for some reason, Sony didn't have enought time, or R&D money to invest into this new monster (no, I'm not referring to blu-ray
), and we can say that it lacks...it lacks games...it lacks realiability...it lacks...
XBOX Live is the king (and by the way, GTA4 online gaming SUCKS), and it has its right to be. My brother has an XBOX 360 (a replacement while he gets his original fixed from the RRoD
)...I'm looking on buying a Wii (I would like for a black Wii, but that might take longer)...and the PS3 is the best option for a blu-ray player...
Now, there is a problem when a 360 runs PS3 code faster, or better than the actual PS3, but that shows a lack of commitment to a 'sure seller' like the PS3...

PS3's graphics was just reviewed (again for the 3rd time by Gamespot) against the XBOX 360 through a human eye (not against those technical numbers you see in a sheet of paper). The verdict: NO BIG WHOOP DEE DOO on the PS3 platform.
