View profile »it's actually a huge pain adding titles to dvdtown's database, and as you and many others have observed, many titles are missing from the database. therefore, you're not going to want to help without being paid a substantive amount of money ($5 a month for many hours of work is serfdom).
i come here for two reasons:
1) to read reviews by john and chris
2) to chat with john, chris, and tim in the message boards. at one point in time, there were a lot of cool folks here, but they have been driven away by blu-ray and hd-dvd chodes.

How long does it take to add a movie to the database? Half hour? Give me the basics of what needs to be done so I have an idea.
It's do-able for me while I'm at work but when I'm at home not so much.
Let me know.

I've passed your message along to Henning. Thanks much for volunteering to help out.
Usually, once you hang of it, it takes about ten minutes to add a single title to the database. It requires that you manually add each detail, usually from a studio press site, and then add the artwork (cover art in small, medium, and large sizes), which has to be downloaded from the press site, resized, and added to the database.

Did you add these titles on the "Release Request" form at "My Dashboard"? Just add a note that they are in the database but come up blank. It means somebody added the movie titles to the database but not the release details.
