With all this talk about High definition, what good is it if you cannot share it and promote it. Your best friend is coming over that knows nothing about BLU-RAY or it's benefits. He has a good $99 dollar upscaler at home. What movie are you going to put on to show him the benefits of the format? What is your "DEMO" scene or scenes? Why?

Either the BBC Planet Earth series...any chapter will do...
Or the HDScapes sampler with the chapter on the Hubble images...

Movie wise, probably the director's cut of Mel Gibson's Payback...or maybe King Kong...

King Kong is a good one. The Matrix is another. Planet Earth also. Tims favorite...Transformers since it has a great audio track as well. Fast and the Furious movies look and sound good also I must say.

Right now HHMMM I would say AEON FLUX. Flawless picture and super bright colors, you really get to see those millions of colors your gear is capable of. Also Master and Commander for the AMAZING DTS soundtrack!

TRANSFORMERS

The beginning scene where the soldiers are talking in the helicopter and then the first battle with one robot against the military is both crazy and flawless in video quality.

I don't know if I feel comfortable with the rocking his socks off phrase. Lets just say to impress him thats what I'd show, lol.

I forgot to put my pick in oops.

The "Tunnel scene" from Die Hard 4. It has all the picture and sound elements (ex. sound!) and the scene looks REAL.(Very little if any CGI) Plus how could John McClane not sell High Def! Just a great scene.(Cars flying everywhere,Helicopters,gunfire,explosions....Intense.)

Oh this is easy, I'd pick one of those Grind House movies that already look horrid, then I could play just about anything after that and get the thumbs up all around!

Yea Tim, I dont think Freddy Rod intended those movies to be HD reference material. Boy did Kurt Russell F&^% with the wrong girls in Death Proof.

Still available as a German HD DVD import...I even thought of picking it up...until I saw it was going to cost me $50 or 60 bucks
