In some states, the hanging penalty for horse theft is still in the books. Florida for one. Google it!

Actually there are several laws still on the books from years ago. They just aren't enforced anymore. I mean in most states it's still illegal to commit suicide, Adultery is still on the books as a crime as "alienation of affection". There are all sorts of crazy laws that are on the books everywhere. It isn't just old laws either, in New York state it's illegal to speak to someone on the elevator if they are facing the door with their arms folded.

Here's one from Canada.

If you are released from prison, it is required that you are given a handgun with bullets and a horse, so you can ride out of town.

First of all, Hendrix, dissing Gore is not going to make you any more interesting ...sarcastic or not...

Anyways, I live in South Texas, and we get LOTS of wind and LOTS of SUN... ...so one of those windmills I've been talking about would be a good expense IF we had the money to buy them...if only...

Although I believe that Al Gore has good intentions, I just wish his documentary concentrated more on the real science rather than spot sensationalism that seemed to link single events like Katrina with global warming. Yes it did spread awareness of the problem, however one has to be careful with this potentially controversial subject.

With the incredibly powerful lobby of fossil fuel companies and the Bush administration, they should have known there would be many just waiting to pounce on any holes, speculation, or sensationalism presented. I think he just should have presented the science as we know it today. But I guess it wouldn`t have been as entertaining for most people.

Here's a beauty for you guys. This is just freakin nuts.

Pentagon Suspends Propaganda Program

Following an exposé in the New York Times that revealed that the Pentagon had successfully planted military analysts on all of the major broadcast networks and cable news networks to support its Iraq war policies, a Pentagon spokesman said Monday that the program would be undergoing an internal review and would be temporarily suspended. Meanwhile, several political blogs have pointed out that the propaganda program, which was prominently featured on the front page of the Sunday Times on April 20, was virtually ignored by the broadcast networks (who were criticized for failing to mention the ties to the Pentagon of their military experts) and that the Times itself, which acknowledged that it ran Op-Ed articles by the retired military figures who had received "talking points" from Pentagon public affairs officers, did little follow-up. Wrote Jason Linkins in the Huffington Post: "The aftermath of the story, for the Times, has been one of scant follow-up, lost scoops, and poor comparison when set alongside similar journalistic efforts."

I don't like to talk about politics but in my opinion Bush, and his whole administration should be tried for war crimes.

They're temporarily taking Fox News off the air?

This could seriously limit my choices for evening comedy

Speaking of the economy...

> Actress ANNE HECHE is broke!
- the former lesbian, now recently divorced (from Coley Laffoon - below), owes a high monthly child support payment (almost $15,000 each month), a house mortage, etc but can't find much work, especially now with a possible (pending) actor's strike (by Screen Actors Guild members). Her recent court papers stated she hasn't been employed since Jan 18, 2008.
