So, I had ordered:

-Aeon Flux (visuals)
-The Thing (I didn't have already)
-Swordfish (I didn't have already)
-Firewall (gotta have Harrison Ford in HD)
-Troy (go figure)

And today, after all the way and all the whining from you ( ) I got:

-Aeon Flux (ok)
-Swordfish (ok)
-Fast Times at Ridgemont High (what?)
and...
-The Departed!!
-Blood Diamond!!

I had heard about some other lame movies, but Departed blows any other choice (even Harry Potter)...and Blood Diamond (which I haven't seen) I think is great...only Fast Times is a combo...so, who is still waiting? (oh, I sent mine by the end of February)...

That brings my hi-def disc as:
-HD DVD: 11
-blu-ray: 1

AH MAN, you got Fast Times, man I would kill for that movie. That movie made me fall in love with my wife. She and Phoebe Cates could pass as twins. )

The Departed is the better movie...But Potter is the better disc(visual/audio) Suck's you didnt get "The Thing". My advice on Fastmont..."Get your fill on that one scene, and then sell it."

(Still one of the best boner momments of all time)

"blood diamond" sux. leo's character treats djimon's character badly up until the end. he's nice only when he realizes that he's gonna die, so it's pointless to hang on to the diamond any longer. plus the movie doesn't fully condemn the diamond trade in general. even if there were no blood diamonds on this planet, the diamond trade is still a crock as diamonds actually aren't rare. yet, the diamond cartel charges up the wazoo. the movie just says, "don't buy blood diamonds." what the movie should say is, "don't buy diamonds at all."

bladerunner... (since you mentioned it)

Note: she was completely naked (often) in this film - PARADISE - which has never been released on DVD (Region 1), but has been available on LaserDisc and VHS previously...

Falcon... I heard they've been happily married a long time, and for awhile now she personally manages her own retail store (fashion related) in New York City. I wonder if they have a Blu-ray player?

mvckalel do you live in the US? I sent my free movies out in early February before the deadline and still haven't got them. The first batch which I sent in late October didn't get to me until Jan 20. What takes them so long I wonder?

YO you got some good movies. I liked blood diamond, and the departed. Aeon is a great film too, and you can't go wrong with fast times. I'm glad you got your collection going. Now if you still want more disks, hit up deepdiscount, and if you have a frys in your city they have a lot of HD DVD's in stock.

bladerunner... I don't have a copy of PARADISE - just rented the VHS years ago to check out Phoebe.

You can buy it in Region 2 DVD from Xploitedcinema.com, if you have a region-free DVD player (that's PAL capable too, most are). See the link above ($18.95).

IMDB.com comments say there is ALSO a widescreen version from Korea, which is indeed REGION-FREE (so can play on any player), however the mail nudity (Willie Ames) is censored (genitals blurred) due to Asian standards, but there is no censoring to Phoebe's nudity (according to reviews). And the Korean subtitles are optional (and not burned-in over the image). As for the 'male nudity', if I remember right it was very little (mainly swimming scenes). But Phoebe is nude and/or topless throughout the film.

Willie Ames (BIBLEMAN)
Seriously though...How did we Americans miss this? Is it A "I just need the money flick?" Or is it a "I'm just trying to get noticed flick?" When was it released? And why is it so buried? I would have killed for this back in the 80's!

Maybe I'll just check ebay???

I have Fast Times on DVD. PHOEBE makes the movie. She was so extremely hot back then. Still looks good for her age. Man she makes me love Brunettes, lol. The movie itself isn't that great though. I wouldn't want that for a replacement. Damn you Toshiba. I ordered mine around the same time, lol.

Yeah man, beautiful eyes, great smile...ok I sound like a perv :p

The best part is shes NATURALLY beautiful. I've been burned so many times by waking up to someone that looked nothing like the person I was with the night before. I'm sure Phoebe still looks delish in the morning.

A N Y W A Y...yeah...Kevin Klein did well for himself :p

Yes, I live in South Texas...and I had the fear I would never see my five movies at all...I was hoping for Harry Potter, but I'm more than happy with the Departed (even when it lacks features the SD DVD has, and it has no HD features) and I've been told Blood Diamond is actually pretty good...

Unfortunately, I don't have a 'fancy' receiver like most of you guys, so I had to hook up the audio part with the 'white/red' cables ...but still, I watched 40 y/o virgin on HD DVD, and it looked great, the video is just great...

Call me old fashioned but I try to keep my movie collection PG-13 or under(I have a few exceptions like Matrix). I'm not a fan of swearing and major gore. So when they replaced the movies I picked with what I hear are nasty movies like DEPARTED I'm disappointed. Mine will go on ebay if they are Departed and Blood Diamond.

Lol, I even have the cleanflicks versions of the Terminator series. That company was cool while it was still around.

Nope, but having high morals I feel uneasy about owning such movies. I'm getting rid of the few that I do have. Not saying I never watch R movies but that I'm trying to clean up my viewing. I know, you probably think thats weird. Just a personal choice. Oh, and why do I have the few R movies in the first place? Because I love movies and that's my weakness, lol.

wolvinator,

I wouldnt think that someone that calls themselves WOLVINATOR to have such high morals.

But I applaud you for having them.

Before I saw Phoebe in Fast Times, all I could think of while watching Gremlins as a kid was.."Man,Billy,...Just Do her already, She wants you dude."

(ofcoarse billy didnt, and my "gremlin" died....without being exposed to daylight....)

Would Ironbull be a cool game name?

Yes Ironbull would be fine.

Speaking of online gaming, when I used to play Socom online on the PS2 I was shocked at how some of these kids talked in the games. At the same time there were some halirious conversations too.

You are being sarcastic, right??

So now because I love the unrated edition of Robocop, or because I love the profanity in Deadwood I have lower morals?

WHAT THE [F]UCK???

Is not like it's me who's killing people...plus, you will always produce negative effects as long as you live...there is no bubble-living...you can always not live, but I don't think that's an option...

lol...nice one. Imagine poor Tims expression when he sees his new plasma screen look something like this :p

By the way, check out this guys story about how he broke his families BRAND NEW plasma before his family got to check it out and how he got it replaced for FREE.

Then at 6:45 that Saturday morning, I was woken up by a muffled "thud". I knew exactly what the sound was. If a large plasma TV tipped out of its box onto the carpet, that's the sound I would imagine it would have.

My heart started beating rapidly. Tipping onto the carpet surely wouldn't break it, would it. I raced downstairs, to get my suspicion confirmed. The TV had taken 8 hours to lean far enough to break out of its foam support and land face-down on the carpet. I slowly lifted the (very heavy) TV up and back into the box. It looked okay. The glass front was not shattered or anything. I felt a bit of relief as I decided that plugging it in would be the best thing to do at the moment. The power light came on, but there was no picture!

And then I saw them. The little cracks all over the inside plasma tube. I broke our brand new expensive television! Noooooooooo! I wanted to throw up. (Yes, I knew it was only a TV and I shouldn't be so materialistic and it was only money, but I still wanted to puke.) I was also thinking about how disappointed my family would be, now that daddy broke the new present (keep in mind these were pre-teens, not toddlers).

There's more at the link below including a pic.
