I did what I said I'd do over a year ago! Best Buy had an LG BH200 combo (Blu & HD DVD) player for $799 -- I found an out-of-the-box one for $399. I picked it up along with "Planet Earth BBC Series", "The Fifth Element", "Goodfellas" & "Troy" on Brooo-ray and "Stardust" & "The Kingdom" on HD DVD. So far everthing works like a charm and I'm very impressed with both formats. Everything I've seen so far looks awesome!

Good choice Tim. You should also check out 2001: A Space Odyssey on either format since they look the same. Unbelievable how good it looks.

Thanks guys, but I'll pass on 2001. I never liked that movie and find it one big bore fest.

Why even bother giving Tim advice? He makes his mind up a YEAR IN ADVANCE.

HD does have its cons. Defects are easily noticed.
