I was dissapointed about Terminator 3. Sure it has lots of action, but the story is to weak. Also I did not like the female terminator. She seems to be to human and evil for a machine, and well... she is just not as good as Robert Patrick.
There was also some silly stuff in it, such as when Arnie resists the hostile takeover from the T-X "must.....resist.....kill.....bad..."

This is not T2 for sure but I liked it very much. Very well executed action and the story had some good points to add to the Terminator trilogy. For me, the best summer movie this year I have seen. Better than Reloaded and Hulk.

I felt that "T3" succeeded where "The Matrix Reloaded failed". I enjoyed both films equally for good summer venues but I thought "T3" just had the upper hand when it came to executing the story, especially the ending. The only thing I could complain about is I thought it was rather short and it never seemed to slow down enough to let the audience have much thought as to what was really happening. However, it was just about everything you would expect from a Terminator movie, and it rarely ever fell short to entertain. As for "The Matrix Reloaded", the film succeeds in challenging the mind as one would expect it to do. However, it executes a story full of holes -- which will probably be better answered in the final episode -- and I could have done without the whole Zion tribal thing. To me, that was just a pointless part of the film, but it is worthy of a good time in the theatre just as much as "T3" was.
As far as summer films go, if you're looking for just pure fun and entertainment, then might I suggest "Pirates of the Caribbean". In my opinion, this film has everything that's been missing from the last two "Star Wars" films. You get memorable characters, witty dialog, and it succeeds in making you feel like a kid again...remember when the old "Star Wars" movies made you feel that way? Not that we haven't all seen this type of genre before on the big screen, it's just that it has been so long since we've seen a swashbuckling adventure that was purely a joy to watch. Quite frankly, it's old fashioned entertainment that really doesn't ask you to think much, or expect a lot, but in the end it manages to put a smile on your face when you leave the theatre.
The way I see it, so far, this summer:
Pirates of the Caribbean - 9/10
Finding Nemo - 9/10
T3 - 7/10
Matrix: Reloaded - 7/10
The Italian Job - 7/10
Bruce Almighty - 6/10
The HulK - 6/10
X-Men II - 5/10
28 Days Later - 4/10

The original terminator is the best of the series. Terminator 3 isn't as good as the original but it is better then Terminator 2. Best as far as action, John connor is no longer a whiny stupid brat, and the new terminator girl is a major hottie.

T3 was made purely for profit, there was no doubt people would come to see this movie. I really didn't see any reason to make this movie because it's the same plot structure as before. Protect John Conner from being terminated and try and prevent judgement day. They simply changed some of the cast and locations for the same thrill ride as T2. The TX was cool in her own way, but also so damn hot you can't focus on anything else :D I did like how judgement day did come into effect and how it couldn't be prevented. In that respect I do kind of look forward to a T4 if it's done right with the post-apocalyptic scenario shown in the previous two movies. Then that'd be badass :)

"er, riiiight"? Is that supposed to be a Dr. Evil thing? It had me laughing!!
I'll agree T2 focused on telling a better story and challenging the mind much more then T3. However, I can't deny that T3 did do a fine job in entertaining the senses and by no means would I say it's a dissapointment. To me, it's just a simple addition to the series and a little darker then the previous two. What I really loved about T3 was the ending. It's an absolute pleasure to see a film that isn't affraid to end a film on a down note. I grow tired of seeing film after film of hope, good guy, and glory triumphing over all. At least this film attempted to be different in that aspect, which is alot more then you can say for many films we endure summer after summer.
As far as all the technical arguements go...well, I view science fiction like I view cartoons, anything is possible and anything can happen. It may not be the answer you agree with, then again, it's only a movie.

Terminator 3 being made only for profit is silly. It showed the nuclear war that the first two movies kept talking about. The first two movies would be lost without that war. Terminator 2 was a dissipointment for me. It had a lot of problems all the major problems of Terminator 3 were from Terminator 2.
Problems with T-1000
1. How does it operate without a central processer (problem not in terminator 3)
2. How does liquid metal replicate itself to look like skin, hair, and clothing.
3. How does the liquid metal cool itself so fast.
4. How did it go through time its not living tissue.
5. If the T-1000 and the T-X can replicate clothing why are they naked (Other then the ovious visual benefit for the T-X)
Other problems
1. How can you delay Jugement Day the future is suppose to be set.
2. John Conor was a whiny brat
3. As much as I like Arnold there is no logical way he could have returned in either sequal. The first movie said Kyle wasn't able to recognize the Terminator untill after he made a move on Sarah which indicates that all the terminators look different. Why does the new terminator John sends back look the same as the one from the first movie.
Terminator 2 was still good but not nearly as good as the original. Terminator 3 was better then Terminator 2 and in my mind a fun action movie.

I've said it before, and I'll reiterate it here... the writers of T3 watched entirely too much Twilight Zone growing up. It was an interesting ending, but the utter lack of development by the major characters in T3 was disheartening. Who was the girl? She kissed the boy at a party, so that makes it OK for her to fall in love with him? It all just seemed so forced. Granted, if there were a gigantic, metallic killer tracking me down, there probably wouldn't be much time to stop and chat about what was going on... but the film seemed very shallow to me, like it was a stopgap for the effects, which were stunning.

The ending of Terminator 3 had all the spirit of the Terminator universe. The whole point was showing a post apocolyptic future that can't be prevented. The way John thought that he could blow up some central computer and stop it all was always a foolish and niave way of thinking. The biggest theme of the Terminator movies is the fact that the future can not be changed it is set. The machines could not stop Conner from leading the revolution and Conner could not stop the machines from taking over. Thats the spirit of the Terminator franchise and it works.
