Justin, the movie's not supposed to have great character development because almost everything takes place in less than 24 hours. Fictional characters don't become fully-dimensional if they are only given the equivalent of a day to "behave" on the screen. :p

I don't really know what you people are all talking about.... I mean there was no reason at ALLL to have a Terminator 3. The director in T2 left no room to film a T3 none what so ever. T3 was a poor attempt for a Terminator movie. The director started making things up about john and his wife (who really can't act), the TX was really bad acting lol (but really hot). in my opion i think that the termintors should have stop at Terminator 2. i think that is a great movie and had a good story behide it. T3 on the other hand was all about blowing things up for fun. had a shitty story, but yet i should have not expected much because James Camron a great Director was not the Director in this film, instead they got this director who really didn't no the story well and tried to change it and he did by leaving room for a T4. James Camron said that the Terminator movies was supposed to end in T2. i think this is a very shitty movie and i think it killed all the REAL Termintor fans out there to see it

I tend to agree with you, Rich99. "T3" doesn't come close to the first two "Terminator" films, which is why I didn't rate it anywhere near the other two. And genuine "Terminator" fans were undoubtedly disappointed that it was all action and no heart. But somebody must have liked "T3" because it grossed over $400,000,000 worldwide in ticket sales, and now there are the DVDs, pay-per-views, premium cable sales, and merchandising figures to tally up. Oh, well....

I can't believe NONE of you can figure out why there was a T3. For one... People STILL love "Ahhnuld", and just plain wanted to see him in the role again. For 2, because "they could" and had the money to. And if you wathched the Directors cut of T2, they DID leave it open for a 3rd at the end. Personally I'm glad to see "The Governator" in one last (albeit crap) but "successful" action movie before the end of his cinematic career. And while I agree that the 3rd was NO WHERE near as good as the first two, for my third point, I do have to give T3 it's due respect for the "Crane" sequence! That was one of the most intense scenes in a movie I've seen in a while! Other than that, I agree with all of the criticism here. 8)
