For example: losing a job, unexpected medical bills from a sick relative or family member, transportation issues, natural disasters, etc.
Chemteam, I have had all of those things happen to me with the exception of a natural disaster, I take the light/rail to work everyday. But if it was not for the comforts of home and the things I truely love to enjoy like HD movies and computers. Things that I've invested alot of money into than I would actually go insane.

The statistical approach in this article is very suspect. Why does she quote Blu-ray standalone sales as decreasing 40% from January 2008 to February 2008 to make her point, but uses Q1 2008 vs Q1 2007 information to show an increase in sales of upconverting DVD players (by 5%)? The more useful information is comparing last year to this year (as there are obvious hot and cold consumer buying periods), but she's selectively deciding when to use this approach.
I couldn't find the actual stats on Blu-ray standalones comparing last year to this year, though (just the 351% increase from Q1 2008 vs Q1 2007 in Blu-ray disc sales). Has any one seen this info?
Note: edited to change "The stats in this article are very suspect." to "The statistical approach in this article is very suspect.", as I'm not questioning the actual stats, but I am questioning the way she is using different non-comparable approaches to form an argument.

Yeah, if only Loverboy knew the crap McCain has tried to smooth over the people of Arizona! He has no clue how much people here in AZ can't stand that guy, even some die-hard Republicans!

The only info I could find regarding the 351% increase was this
Quote:
Blu-ray format witnessed impressive sales of 3.8 m titles in the US for the first quarter of 2008. The figures have disappointed industry insiders though because they have not got close to making up the shortfall from flagging standard def DVD's. Wholesale DVD revenue has actually dropped from $25 billion in 2006 to a forecast $21 billion for 2008.
