I don't know if it's a mistake on their end but some HD DVD movies have gone WAY up in price. some of the movies that were $11.95 have gone up to $19.95, and others that were $19.95 have gone up to $27.95, Beowulf is $27.95 now, Stardust also $27.95, Star Trek TOS has gone up to $132.95...it used to be like $96.
I hope this is some error that will only last today.

I don't think it's an error, Falcon.
HD DVD titles will become scarce in the future and prices will most likely go up because the demand is still there.

It's the Paramount titles that went up in price, May 1st.
Lot's of stuff went from $11.95 to $19.95, and from $18.95 to $27.95 since last night.
Some box sets going up at even a higher percentage.
Many of the Amazon 'Marketplace Merchants' haven't caught on yet, so you can still get things cheaper through them, but inevitably it looks like that instead of a 'cheap' fire sale blowout, they will price HD DVD upwards into extinction.
Most titles going up probably because they are already scheduled for re-release on Blu Ray and they don't want to give someone an excuse to go buy an HD DVD player to get the same movies for half the price of the Blu Ray versions.
They will make you pay full price for the HD DVD versions, the same as they plan to do for the Blu Ray ones.
When HD DVD sales slow to a crawl, it gives them an excuse to no longer stock them anymore.

Keep an eye on some international sites. Some of the ones that have jumped in North America are still cheaper in the UK, for example.

This is actually a good thing. Not everybody knows that hd-dvd is dead. They should probably just burn the remaining stock and pretend it never happened. I know that some of you hate blu-ray and prefer hd-dvd...heck, I liked it better. But it's not coming back.

I'm just glad that I picked up pretty much everything I wanted to own from Universal, Paramount, and Warner, at greatly discounted prices on HD DVD.
Much of which will be selling for 30%-80% more than I paid, when it get's released on Blu Ray.
You'll also see a decent amount of(especially Universal) movies that aren't Re-released on Blu for another 12-18 months, that I can watch on HD DVD tonight.
Sure I'll buy new stuff on Blu Ray and SD DVD, but at least I won't be wasting my money re-purchasing the same titles that I already have on HD DVD.
I am still looking to pick up many new releases on Blu Ray now to add to my HD DVD collection, as I am equipped to playback both HD formats.
Still waiting to see what happens when DVD2 pops up on the horizon as well

Burn the remaining stock? I'm sure you'd like that.

Burn the stock to avoid any more confusion...So we can finally move on and let blu-ray do it's thing. Until DD arise.

Still faced with the same film, released on Blu Ray AND HD DVD, I would tend to acquire the HD DVD version, as I have had some PS3 service issues, and I have 1 Blu Player(PS3), and 3 HD DVD players.
I have no problems whatsoever with Blu Ray in general, and will continue to purchase what I want to own on the format.
I just already own far more HD DVD's than Blu Ray's at this point.
Although the future may change with Digital Downloads, DVD2, and Super Up-Conversion.

So we can finally move on? I think we've all done that ever since Toshiba threw in the towel. Are you waiting for HD DVD to be extinct? You sound more like an HD DVD hater than someone moving on with Blu-ray.
