Ok, here is my movie hit-list for the summer and why i'm gonna go see it:

May 2 - Iron Man (Duh!)
May 9 - Speed Racer (I was a fan of the cartoon when I was little, the movie looks to translate well enough.)
May 16 - Prince Caspian (They better speed up the filming process or those kids will be 50 by the time they get to The Last Battle!)
May 22 - Indiana Jones (This is one i'll take my dad to go see. He took me to all the other ones when they came out.)
May 23 - Postal (Not generally an Ewe Bolle fan, but the satire looks pretty over the top in this one.)
June 6 - Don't Mess With The Zohan (Isreali Spec-Forces turned hairdresser. Antics ensue.)
June 13 - The Hulk (No more emo Hulk! HULK SMASH!!!)
June 20 - Get Smart (Anne Hathaway is SO hot!! Oh yeah, and this looks pretty funny.)
June 27 - Wall*E (Not really a Pixar fan anymore, but the kids will like it.)
June 27 - Wanted (Angelina Jolie hotness and wicked kick ass action! Good mix!)
July 2 - Hancock (I'll be on vacation so i'll miss this one on release day, but it's Will Smith so it should go for a week or two.)
Jully 11 - Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Perfectly cast. Like the first one. Del Toro for president!!!)
July 11 - Journey to the Center of the Earth (This is in 3-D!!)
July 18 - The Dark Knight (IMAX!!!)
July 25 - X-Files 2 (Not sure if I still want to believe. We'll see.)
August 1 - The Mummy 3 (Not much of a fan of these movies, maybe the third time is a charm?)
August 8 - The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (LOL! Just kidding!)
August 15 - Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Animated CG goodness!)
August 18 - Babylon A.D. (I want another Riddick movie! Looks like this is as close as it'll get for now.)
September 26 - Death Race (Not really summer anymore, but I really wanna see this remake!)

Jeez!! Don't they realize going to the movies is not cheap anymore!!! Why must they release all this goodness over such a short span of time! I'm not made of money dammit! lol

I liked what you said about Indiana Jones. My dad took me to all the first three as well so I'll be taking him to the new one. Sometimes there is that one person you have to go see certain movies with

Meh! Fizzles in one week... SPEEDRACER happens.

May 9 - Speed Racer (I was a fan of the cartoon when I was little, the movie looks to translate well enough.)

Not young enough to see the series... BUT IT WILL RAKE UP SO MUCH MOOLAAAAH!!!

May 16 - Prince Caspian (They better speed up the filming process or those kids will be 50 by the time they get to The Last Battle!)

Meh! Still SPEEDRACER money-o-matic-meter. SPEEDRACER fizzles after INDIANA JONES happens.

May 22 - Indiana Jones (This is one i'll take my dad to go see. He took me to all the other ones when they came out.)

Me thinks this will NOT BE GOOD... but will still make MOOLAH due to hardcore fans (which is everyone).

May 23 - Postal (Not generally an Ewe Bolle fan, but the satire looks pretty over the top in this one.)

Uwe Boll? Uhhhh.... douche bag. Don't care. Dude, don't care. DUDE... DON'T CARE!!!!!

June 6 - Don't Mess With The Zohan (Isreali Spec-Forces turned hairdresser. Antics ensue.)

I never liked Adam Sandler as a comedian. Liked him better in the Anderson-directed drama pic.

Quote:
June 13 - The Hulk (No more emo Hulk! HULK SMASH!!!)

Edward Norton? Hmmm.... will wait for reviews.

Quote:
June 20 - Get Smart (Anne Hathaway is SO hot!! Oh yeah, and this looks pretty funny.)

I don't care for FROG-FACE... Steve Carell SOLD ME!

Quote:
June 27 - Wall*E (Not really a Pixar fan anymore, but the kids will like it.)

Steve Jobs is the Devil-incarnate... and I shall follow his every HOOF steps.

Quote:
June 27 - Wanted (Angelina Jolie hotness and wicked kick ass action! Good mix!)

Is this a sequel to a lady, with a BAD ENGLISH accent... Raiding Tombs?

Quote:
July 2 - Hancock (I'll be on vacation so i'll miss this one on release day, but it's Will Smith so it should go for a week or two.)

<snicker...> He said "Hancock" <snicker...>

Jully 11 - Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Perfectly cast. Like the first one. Del Toro for president!!!)

Mike Mignola is a GOD! I shook the man's hand over a decade ago... and still haven't washed it since. I think he's still upset for Joe Quesada copying his drawing style. I don't blame him.

Quote:
July 11 - Journey to the Center of the Earth (This is in 3-D!!)

Been there... done that. It's called MARRIAGE.

Quote:
July 18 - The Dark Knight (IMAX!!!)

Yesssssssss. I never liked Michael Keaton as Batman. I'm still waiting for FRANK MILLER to executive-produce DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. (Bruce Wayne on Ben Gay).

Quote:
August 1 - The Mummy 3 (Not much of a fan of these movies, maybe the third time is a charm?)

Only one movie I cared to see Brendan Frazier... CRASH.

Quote:
August 8 - The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (LOL! Just kidding!)

NOT F***CKIN' FUNNY.

Quote:
August 15 - Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Animated CG goodness!)

I'll be part of them TREKKIES... oops, wrong GEEKS.

Quote:
August 18 - Babylon A.D. (I want another Riddick movie! Looks like this is as close as it'll get for now.)

Is this before or after BABYLON 5?

Quote:
September 26 - Death Race (Not really summer anymore, but I really wanna see this remake!)

Which came first, Mad Max or Death Race?

.... don't care. Will wait for the reviews on all this flix BEFORE I WASTE MY dollar on these RECYCLES.

I grew up on Speed Racer, Ultra Man, The Transformers, GoBots, Thundercats, Silver Hawks, Space Ghost, G.I. Joe. I could go on for days. Speed Racer I will not go see because of what Hollywood did to the Transformers. I want to remember them the way that they were intended.

You're probably thinking of "Death Race 2000," which came out in 1975, a few years before "Max Max" (1979).

The only 3 movies that I will see on the BIG screen this summer is Speed Racer, The Dark Knight and X Files 2(hey I am a huge fan). My prediction is that The Dark Knight will clean house this summer. The others I can wait until they are released on HD DVD........ oh my BAD, I mean Blu Ray.

I thought Lucas animated all the characters in his last three prequels.

John, OFFSIDE! 5 minutes in the penalty box for you!

Yeah the prequels could have been SOOOOOOO much better. Ah well, hopefully someone will remake all 6 movies and make them BETTER.

Remake all 6 movies, that was funny. But the first 2 are just fine the way they are.

Hey... I thought there was also going to be a 2nd modern remake (by Sony again) of GODZILLA...? Note: I know Sony's rights to the character expired in 2003, but I would think they may have reacquired rights thereafter.

I can't seem to find a release date, so maybe it's been re-scheduled. Does anyone know more info about it?

Coming up in 2009... in 3D Imax. Not Sony-produced, but THAT IS A GOOD THING. Movie is produced by Japanese Godzilla veterans. Yes, GODZILLA LOOKS LIKE GODZILLA. Not like a pregnant Iguana.

Hey there xplaytendo... yeah, I heard about the 3-D IMAX project already (and is it only going to be 40 minutes long?), but I still thought that a 2nd remake was coming to theaters THIS summer, and would be feature-length. Hope someone can provide more definitive info (if known).

And yes, I already heard about the upcoming (summer) Blu-ray release of the 1998 1st GODZILLA remake. It would be worth renting again, but I agree with you that they mess with his physical image way too much. However, I did like the CGI and overall visual presentation. The credits to that movie list a ton of people who worked on the SpFx/CGI.

I gotta say it was an excellent movie! Robert Downey Jr. rocked the part of Tony Stark like no other ever has! Gweneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts was also well done. The interactions between the two were spot on. And the scenes where Stark is building and testing the armor are QUITE entertaining. And then the scenes with the completed armor are pretty cool too. The only problem I had with the movie was character balance. The character of Tony Stark was SO well played that it overshadowed the rest of the movie. I would have been fine with the entire movie having only Tony Stark interacting with his co-workers the way he did. Those parts were so supremely written and performed and entertained me so much that they were the highlight of the movie for me. The rest was just icing on the cake. I eagerly await the sequel which is planned for an April 2010 release I believe.
