Hey... I thought there was also going to be a 2nd modern remake (by Sony again) of GODZILLA...? Note: I know Sony's rights to the character expired in 2003, but I would think they may have reacquired rights thereafter.

I can't seem to find a release date, so maybe it's been re-scheduled. Does anyone know more info about it?

Coming up in 2009... in 3D Imax. Not Sony-produced, but THAT IS A GOOD THING. Movie is produced by Japanese Godzilla veterans. Yes, GODZILLA LOOKS LIKE GODZILLA. Not like a pregnant Iguana.

Hey there xplaytendo... yeah, I heard about the 3-D IMAX project already (and is it only going to be 40 minutes long?), but I still thought that a 2nd remake was coming to theaters THIS summer, and would be feature-length. Hope someone can provide more definitive info (if known).

And yes, I already heard about the upcoming (summer) Blu-ray release of the 1998 1st GODZILLA remake. It would be worth renting again, but I agree with you that they mess with his physical image way too much. However, I did like the CGI and overall visual presentation. The credits to that movie list a ton of people who worked on the SpFx/CGI.

I gotta say it was an excellent movie! Robert Downey Jr. rocked the part of Tony Stark like no other ever has! Gweneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts was also well done. The interactions between the two were spot on. And the scenes where Stark is building and testing the armor are QUITE entertaining. And then the scenes with the completed armor are pretty cool too. The only problem I had with the movie was character balance. The character of Tony Stark was SO well played that it overshadowed the rest of the movie. I would have been fine with the entire movie having only Tony Stark interacting with his co-workers the way he did. Those parts were so supremely written and performed and entertained me so much that they were the highlight of the movie for me. The rest was just icing on the cake. I eagerly await the sequel which is planned for an April 2010 release I believe.
