Vote here if you would like to have some sort of system on dvdtown where we could contact eachother about MOVIE TRADES.

I think what would work is if we had the ability to send "private" messages to each other.

HENNING???

That might take some time. In the meantime, you could go to Rotten Tomatoes and start a free account. The forums in RT will allow you to send private messages to each other. Once you have your free account setup, start a thread called "DVDTOWN Traders" say in the Genereal Discussion Forum. Come back here and give us the link -- *Note: peeps that don't have a free account setup on RT will need to do so to respond.

It might sound like a roundabout way, but it's really easy to setup a free account there (it's not rocket science kids). As long as it's a thread only we respond to, RT dosen't give a crap, so that would be my suggestion and I know it would work. You might even place the thread in the DVD forum on RT, which hardly anyone ever hits.

Ok, I already did it. Go here:

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/vine/showthread.php?p=13145413#post13145413

Enjoy

PS: When you get there, look for the "PROFILE" button on any members message and from there a window will pop open where you will find a link to send a private message. Once you sing up there, you will need to remember to view your private messages.

Also, to make this all work, remember from time-to-time to "BUMP" this thread and the thread on RT to keep things active.

Again, enjoy!

Tim,
Yeah, we could do it that way. We could also use myspace. But wouldnt it be nicer here. It would be like the "my movies" thing already on here. But "movies for trade" instead. I dunno, i'm not a computer wiz or anything, but I think I read that John has brought something like this up to Henning...

This vote will let them know just how interested we are in this sort of thing. And if they can make it happen,"great", if not, then we use other methods.

That would be cool.
It would be cool to have a "Who's online feature"!

Note to all you guys,

Yeah, it would be nice to have all those things, but you all need to understand that Henning started this site with very fun and heartful intenssions -- yet at some point it grew big and got away from him. Yeah, the message board is certainly behind the times, but as it turns out Henning has a hurricane of a message board to manage and he probably never could have expected it. He's a busy man and he has a small crew to handle the expectations we demand. So, yeah, we will need to go on a roundabout way to make this a reality for now. Nevertheless, don't harp on Henning and crew as I know what it's like in the IT industry. It's a LOT of work to make the simple things happen, so don't count on any of these things happening for a while here. No offense to Henning as I am very clear what it takes to make things a reality, so, for now, we'll have to jump to other avenues.

Oh don't deny what you do daily here on the Msg Bd Tim (and Eddie too). It's your 'hobby'.

Do you have any suggested topics that I could write up, so that then you could 'go overboard' on (hehe), with 'spew salad' pics? Just a thought.

Now I see why it's obvious your 'clueless'.

...as it's obvious that I (and others) WATCH the soap opera here (daily) on DVDTOWN, starring Tim Raynor, and the 'Admiral' - Eddie Feng!

'Admiral' Eddie Feng...

Go ahead now, and do one of your well-known 'spew salad' responses, or something else... as obviously it's your main hobby here on the Msg Bd just about every time you read one of my posts. Question - Does Eddie have you on a string? Hmmm... I notice that if he's not griping against one of my posts, then -you- will do so! True fans

DVDTOWN - Where Movies Matter (not soap operas or spew salad image pics)

Wait... I'll go ahead and use one of your fav spew salad pics, as I know you enjoy seeing salad...

Some humor...

~ Image below - "Spoof Kazakh reporter BORAT <(review) scored a huge box office hit by offending and humiliating Americans & Kazakhs. Borat bears an uncanny resemblance to Mahir Cagri, a resident of Izmir, Turkey - who became an Internet celebrity in 1999. Both men are journalists, favor wearing suits, struggle with English, love playing table tennis, and are wildly enthusiastic about sex!"

My, how the tables turn on who's "emotional"! lol

Yes, I have to admit Jimi Love HAS been randomly on edge. Perhaps his glorious "TOTAL ACCESS" account isn't sitting too well with him. Oh well, I'm sure I just set him up for another long winded, spew salad.

Tim, oh I see that there's a repeat above^ on the popular Days of Our Lives on DVDTOWN thread redux. Many classic "episodes"providing fun for all. Thanks again sport for your comedic talents.

Looks like your 'salad' is getting old and stinky... perhaps throw it out and try some Texas barbecue?

I -will- admit the above^ BBQ spew sure looks great, and would you look at that - it even has Tim's name on the BBQ! ...well no 'comeback' for me on this one... (as it would be lame compared to that great looking BBQ!!)

...I'm hungry (to quote kucoloco!)

Yeah, there's a place close by called, get this, No-Name BBQ (hehe), that has the best tasting buns for their sandwiches. Also, a place called Buster's, Gabby's, and others - Texas is very popular 'country' for BBQ (as you know propably).

What's nice about Arizona is the great weather compared to our humidity. And the Phoenix area is growing so fast (#5 largest city right behind Houston) that it could end it up passing Houston before long and become the #4 largest city, after NY, LA, and Chicago (the big 3). I've been to the Grand Canyon twice, and in the early '80s was able to take a helicopter ride over the canyon, which they later outlawed, but I think now they are doing it again.
