For those of you who own a Zune (I have a first gen 30 gig), have you had any problems with the Zune software updating and uploading music from folders that you specified you wanted to upload from??

My problem is, I have albums that are not appearing on both the Zune software and player, any thoughts?

Did you sign up for a Zune account in the marketplace and download any of these albums? If so, is your account current, meaning you setup an account to draw from a credit card automatically?

Why I ask is if you cancelled the account in anyway, after 30-days and once you connect your Zune to the computer, it will delete all the stuff you downloaded from the Zune marketplace. Anything you download from the marketplace is just like renting, so if you cancel your account, then NEVER plug the Zune into your computer as long as your in your desktop. If you want to cheat the system, then go to Best Buy, or wherever and get a USP adapter you can plug into any AC plug-in in your house to keep it charged and you will never lose your music downloaded from the Zume marketplace.

If this is not the case, then I have no clue what could have happened, but the info I provided is jsut what I've heard will happen. It's all about that whole licensing thing.

I did register but haven't downloaded/purchased anything from the marketplace at all.

I ripped the CDs using windows media player...but in the Zune software, I selected the 'music' folder on my PC were I keep ALL my music...

I hate you Microsoft!

You selected the music on your windows media player or from the Zune software? In any case, that's freaking odd!

I haven't run into this problem myself, but I haven't downloaded the latest update . . . perhaps I will avoid until MS realizes there are some issues.

F-ing, MS! I can agree with you there! Yeah, Vista! What a wonderful POS!

After BETA testing Vista for two years, I corrected some code for MS, and got paid hansomely. That OS was still in post rpoduction whent hey released it. Yikes... When will they ever learn. Anyways, I have chosen to go back to XP Prof. For $120 that is your best investment. If you like Defender, there is a free version available for XP. Personally, I don't use it, and I never have any issues!!!
