I just purchased a Toshiba HD A30 and have plugged everything in and when I try to update to the newest firmware, it tells me it cannot find out server. I have the ethernet cable directly from my Toshiba to my modem. I can see on my desktop that my modem knows that there is another user, but my Toshiba cannot find server.
I have turned on DHCP with DNS on. It shows an IP address, Subnet Mask, and DNS server numbers, but there is no Gateway numbers?
Help me DVDTown, you are my only hope.

Can't you download it off the internet to your computer, put it on a CD-R and update that way?

too funny Tim!!! Our internet provider is our telephone company (Telus) and apparantly the modem they gave us is not friendly with devices like HD DVD, Xbox, Sony and such. I gave them a call and he walked me through the procedure and now everything is up and running.
I just have to say that The Thing on HD DVD is AMAZING!!!
Can't wait to watch The Shining and Shrek the others I have picked up.
