GI Joe Movie

What's the deal with them including Heavy Duty and not Road Block? Heavy Duty wasn't even in any of the main GI Joe story lines!! He's a cousin to Road Block! If you ask me they are taking way to much creative freedom with this movie. Take a look at the costumes. They're all the same! The costumes were part of the character's identity in the cartoons and toys. They matched up with the characters names and roles. And Destro doesn't even have his mask?! WTF?! This is something that is near and dear to a lot of people's childhood memories. If they change it too much it quite simply will not be accepted by those that they are hoping to grab as an audience. Which, I would assume, are the people who have fond memories of watching the cartoons and playing the toys. Already this is looking like a disaster in the making.

I sure hope those are just preproduction costumes that will look much better in the final film because honestly, it looks like a B-movie from those pics.

Maybe we have another case of a horrible director completely ruining a franchise. I'm looking at you, Schumacher, for ruining Batman with your fluorescent neon cityscapes and horrid overacting.

The problem is that what works in a cartoon doesn't often work in a Movie. Remember all the bitching and moaning of the costumes in X-Men? Well hindsight being 20/20 bright yellow spandex would've looked pretty stupid. The problem with Gi-Joe is that for every good costume (Snake-Eyes) there were like twenty terrible costumes I mean Quick-Kick just wore pants and a sash. Yeah that'll help you fight terrorists across the globe. "Where do you keep your gun?" "You don't want to know."

Will this movie have GI Joe with the Kung-Foo grip?

I wish they all had their costumes. I mean wouldn't it be neat to see alive action movie where a couple the characters wore wet suits the whole time for no reason? But really though Brendan Frasier is rumored on imdb to be in this. He should never be cast in anything.

Yeah, I agree with you taco. It would be sweet to see "Snow-job" walking around the desert in his siberian getup! And "Seal" flipping burgers in his wetsuit! And "Gung-Ho" at the local male revue! (wait a min.)

Enough about Darth Maul already! He was killed by a Jedi Padawan! He was a stupid character in a stupid movie!!! Get over it already!!!

Didn't we all say the same thing about X-Men when we saw the initial photos of the costumes? And what happened? Was that movie a "disaster in the making" or was it legit?

Point being: stop trying to be the Amazing Kreskin and predict the box office fortune of a movie more than a year before it debuts.
