. . . you shouldn't complain about people who can't see the difference between DVD and Blu-ray
There's a difference?

That chart might have been true a couple years back, but PC gaming has been on the decline for a while now. Between the availabilty of titles sooner, and the ability to use your theater room for gaming most people I associate with have left PC gaming for a next gen console. Add to that the cost of a gaming PC capable of running current and future games , and software developers leaving the PC world because of Piracy. The future of PC gaming looks more like a niche market.

Very true, many titles are now "console only" or at least released first on that platform. Plus, popping in a disc and know that your hardware is 100% compatible with the game is a big plus.

Agreed with the chart...
I actually liked your post, until I realized your name was "wii-lite"
...then it all went downhill....is like those guys with "blu" or "red" names talking good about blu-ray or HD DVD
...either way, I'm still right...and not 3:10 to Yuma right, I'm right...

Ok - so part of the chart is outdated.
Are you listening Blu-ray consortium?

I considered into buying an XBOX 360 but I just can't afford to start all over with a new console and buy games and accessories for two consoles, so I'm just concentrating on the Wii since I've had it since launch. BTW, since you read my post, I'm sure you realized that I mentioned that we "cover ALL consoles without prejudice" in my site, so just because I prefer Nintendo it doesn't mean I'm a "fanboy".

"Same old"?? Let's see:
- Standardized the analog stick on a console (N64): Now industry standard
- First full 3D environments platformer (Super Mario 64): Now industry standard
- First game with a free camera controlled by the player (SM64): Now commonly used
- Standardized built-in 4 controller ports (N64): Now industry standard
- First console with rumble feedback (N64): Now industry standard
- First console with motion controls (Wii): Copied in the last minute by Sony
- First console company come out with reliable wireless controllers (GCN): Now industry standard
and I'm sure there are plenty more "firsts" or standardizations by Nintendo of which I'm not aware. If you want to call something a gimmick how about Sony adding Blu-ray to the PS3, not THAT's a gimmick. I wonder out of all the PS3 games how many are actually BD media.

In your opinion. I would argue that this technology incorporated into a game console is also a "first", soon to be eventually copied in future consoles by Nintendo and Microsoft. It offers higher capacity and bitrate media to contain future games that will someday take advantage of it. And for those who use it to play Blu-ray movies, it certainly isn't a gimmick to them.
