The 'official' word on whether or not Haze was dubbed a Halo killer:

Now shut your own hole!

PS: And for the love of all that is holy!! The apostrophe in a contraction goes between the second to the last letter and the last letter!!!

Just a few facts here.

Quote:
You can't even associate the word uncompressed or 1080p with the 360.

The XBOX 360 has full 1080p support on HDMI capable units.

Also, they offer 3 years of world wide warranty because of the "Ring of Death" problem. If you have a defective unit in that period they pick it up at your house and fix the problem and deliver it right back to you at no cost for you.

Personally, I have yet to play Haze. I have a demo waiting for me on my PS3 and will give it a try as soon as I get some spare time. However, owning both consoles, right now, the XBOX is beating the PS3 when it comes to content and that is by many lengths. Perhaps future games will close the gap but they surly have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to games and online features.

My question remains, who said this game was a Halo killer? Was it IGN, GamePro, Game Spot, etc....
No one called this a Halo killer but a bunch of people in forums. Please give me on reputive site with an article saying that this game was has the potential of becoming a Halo killer. Not a bunch of links to forums.

Don't know if it is a serious site but UGO talk about it in those terms. But, the article is pretty old I think.

Quote:
...Haze is Sony's potential Halo-killer for the 2007 holiday season. It's a release which could both satisfy current PS3 owners and draw in new ones who might otherwise have snatched up an Xbox 360.

And since Haze is very obviously positioned as "the PS3's Halo," it's going to garner a lot of direct comparisons to Bungie's game, which can only weaken its position in the end.

Thank You Henning, that's all I was asking. I did'nt comment on reviews because I saw the game shots and did'nt think it was a Halo killer nor did I hear this. If the game sucks which the reviews seem it say it does than maybe it will take few installments to refine the game.

Whether the game was dubbed a "Halo Killer" or not my point really was that the developers probably don't think that way. You can't all you can do is make the best game possible and not think about what some other developer did. I'm with you Tony Haze never looked that good in previews so I wasn't really that interested.

Falc.... tony is more than likes the ps3. thats clear. he prefers something that does a few things.. even with doing-some not so well. he talks about what people own or dont, and doesent have a 360. all his comments are based on friends/articles. ...this happened to this or the other guy.

we stat talking about poor games for ps3. then we fall into the 7.1 sound, redring of death... what tha??? is this about movie watching, video games? failura rate... this site is still entertaining, without trying to.

360 has warranty, and as ive stated before... if it doesent fail.. ends up being tthe best video game sys avail.

thanks again Henning.

Kuco, the 7.1 was in reference to video games. And if you notice I said that this game does'nt look like it could kill Halo. In fact I was giving Halo a complement. As I said before there is a 360 in my house. It belongs to my son. The RRoD comment was embellishment on your part because I never said anything in this thread about RRoD. My 1080p comment was also about games developed in 1080p. Something that's a possibility on the PS3 but definitly not on the 360. That comes from a microsoft exec.

Wrong, Tony. You need to start re-thinking your comments if you're gonna bash on the 360. The XBOX 360 is FULLY CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING NATIVE 1080P GAMES. Sega's "Virtua Tennis" & EA's "NBA Homecourt" were the very first examples of such games... and they were just the start. Praising the PS3 is one thing, but 'hating' the competing console without doing your research, is a bit reckless.

The XBOX 360 had an update at some point which enabled 1080P playback from the HD DVD add-on drive through the component cables right? I'm guessing this means it can play games at 1080P also?

Ok so they both do 1080P, GREAT.

Personally my gaming days are behind me but I'll endulge in a few every once in a while like the upcoming Socom 4 game, Ridge Racer, Grand Tourismo: Prologue 5 and I'm sure there will be others. Principally though the PS3 will be used as a bluray player in my house and I'll be watching videos stored on the external drive. I want to get a 360 cause practically everyone I know has one and it would be fun playing golf, Gears of War, GTA 4, etc with them online but I want a bluray player more.

Both machines offer some great features. Let's just enjoy them.
