Lucas has a pathological fear of negative space. He has to crowd every inch of the frame with "something" just because more is obviously always better. What, a little bit of air up there? Can't have that? Time to stick in another cute CGI character to fill up the hole.

His CGI backgrounds look fine. His CGI characters look utterly ridiculous (ping-pong Yoda is the most laughable CGI creation I have ever seen) with the exception of creating multiple copies of similar-looking characters (e.g. clones) in large groups.

The prequels are simply offensive to look at, so garish and so hyperactive they are nearly intolerable.

mvckalel, I dislike that csjlong because I think he's an idiot.

Geez, I thought you only attacked John and Eddie.

I got, like, lots of degrees and stuff, so I can't possibly be an idiot.

Chris,

I work in graphics, so I can make you any degree you'd like . . . that is if you're looking for more.

Rotten tomatoes gives it a 44%. I think a lot of people are forgetting that this movie was made as a way to promote the animated TV series that is going to be coming out soon. Guess I'll wait and see for myself:

When Luke asked Obi-Wan if he had fought on the Clone Wars with his father, all of us wondered how those wars were, and how they came to be. Attack of the Clones depicts the very first moments, and RotS shows some battles.

I hope this movie shows actual combat, with war strategies and whatnot, lots of action and battles. I will obviously go and watch the movie, heck, it's Star Wars!

Chris, it can't be any worse than that horrible puppet Yoda in Phantom Menace.

I agree that the prequels have some of the most beautiful visuals ever seen or imagined on film BUT at times they did go overboard also. I swear sometimes it was as if I was watching a digital cartoon. It was so annoying and it bugged me most in Attack of the Clones in that "arena battle".

OMG this movie looks soooo cornball. Check out this clip of the light saber duel between Obi Wan and Ventress. Totally made for a 5 yr old.

Falcon, that's because it is. There will be about 100 episodes of this on Cartoon Network. The reviews I read said that the visuals are excellent but the movie as a whole is geared towards the kids. That's one of the reasons they introduced the little padawan Ahsoka.
Lucas hooked me with the original trilogy when I was young, then hooked my daughter with the prequel trilogy when she was young, and now he's reeling in a new generation with the animated series. He will now get more of my money when this comes to DVD (or Blu if available).
