Gizmodo's negative review...
> New INDY's Most Deadly Trap is the Movie Itself - Right there, as the lights went down, waiting for the first notes of the theme song, I was ready to shiver and jump in my seat. I was ready for the ride. And I got it. I got goosebumps too. And then, as I was thinking "this is going to be so amazingly cool," all my hopes were shattered by a script that went downhill after the first 30 minutes. Because simply put: THIS MOVIE SUCKS. - Read More thru the link above (includes spoilers), followed by viewer comments.

I just walked in the door from watching the KOTCS and I was thoroughly satisfied. I was not expecting the huge new blockbuster, but a sequel to previous movies that were action packed, well written and innovative.
This movie was all three. It did not hide that fact that he is getting too old for this and still had sequences that had laughter action and.......well no spoilers.
This is a definite must see, don't go in overhyped, watch the first three, and you will come out with the impression that this is a damn good movie!!

I have to say I was very disappointed with the movie and I didn't even expect that much of it.
The story was a mess and at the end I had little interest in the characters. This made me not care about who died, lived and why they did it.
It was well made in sequences but that does not cut it for me when the creators are some of the biggest and wealthiest tycoons of hollywood. What is the purpose if in the end we don't care who finds the secret treasure first and why?
I rate it 2/5 stars. Sorry.

I did my best to get to the first showing of the day, but I had to settle for the 1:40 pm showing, oh, well.
I was soooooo excited to finally see Indy on the big screen...and the trailers went on, and I like that new Shia movie trailer, it looks good...and saw the Wall-e trailer again, which, again, gave me chills
...then the Lucasfilm logo appeared...and it was on...
In spite for the first minutes with the teenagers and the car scene, the first fifteen-twenty minutes were VERY rough, I couldn't understand why. I mean, things just didn't add up, things didn't make sense, things just weren't 'Indy territory'...you do have to understand that I watched Raiders on Saturday afternoon, and it was GREAT, so my hopes were high...
But those first minutes were gone, and in was "the Shia guy", and again I tell you, he is great and for some odd reason, Time Magazine says he's got no 'charisma', but they couldn't be more wrong (along with the Obama thing)...yes, Indy was safe from nuclear testing (the way he escaped is the BIGGEST stretch EVER
), in the government's "black list" and gone...but yes, in came Mutt Williams, in look for help of the great Indiana Jones...
And so, the adventure began, and after it began, after the rought first minutes were passed, after Shia came in, this GREAT adventure really kicked into full gear. The relation between Indy and Mutt kicked in the history kicked in the folk tale kicked in the action kicked in the foils kicked in the adventure kicked in EVERYTHING that makes a great Indy movie kicked in, and it finished with a bang that will lack the upcoming X-Files 2 movie (which is focusing not on the conspiracy, but on the supernatural elements).
Why are people trying to put this movie down? Why do people not understand that this movies are just popcorn movies, and that besides the 'nuclear escape' part, there isn't a biggest stretch such as McLane's jump into the flying jet???
This movie IS NOT Raiders of the Lost Ark, and this movie I don't think ever tried to be Raiders, is a new story, a new story, a new episode in Indy's life, that you will enjoy more than it is given credit to. By the way, I chose digital for my first showing, and will go to the dollar (film) theatre, once the movie is on second run...I give it four crystal skulls, out of five...
