OK, I'm probably just missing something really obvious, but I'm having a big problem with this player. Blu and HD DVD discs look beautiful, but it keeps taking SDs and making them full screen. I can't get any SD discs, including ones that I KNOW are anamorphic to play in 16:9. Is there something in the settings that I'm missing? Has anyone else had this problem. Before someone states the obvious, yes, the player is set for 16:9 in the "Home - Display" menu. HELP!!!

IP,

This is odd because at the AVS Forums, BH200 owners are complaining about the opposite problem--that the player stretches native 4:3 SD signals to 16:9:

You might want to do some further research at AVS. Just type in the problem you're experiencing. People there usually run into the same problems the rest of us do, and somebody is bound to have an answer.

What about your TV setting? Is it perhaps set to one of those 'forced' enhanced (processed) modes? You should cycling thru your various TV ratio modes with a 16x9 DVD signal, and see if you can find the one that is the accurate 'look' (without stretching it unnaturally to full-screen mode of the original anamorphic disc image).

I thought it might be an issue with the projector, but I watched a movie in anamorphic widescreen through the same projector but a different player last night, and there was no problem. I am clueless.
