I was at the local (Moses Lake, WA) Wal-Mart today getting a clock/radio/iPod Dock today from the clearance section, and I found 2 Samsung BD Players for 200 dollars. I couldn't find any Profile Information but it said that it was BD Live ready and had an internet connection... so who knows. I would have picked it up if I could spend the money. Besides I'm holding out for a PS3.

So... keep your eyes peeled.

Could be the BDP-1500.

Good news if it will sell for $200.

If it is the BDP-1500 that would be a GREAT deal and should speed up adoption to hidef especially for the holidays.

damn 200 that's a really good deal!! the prices in san diego, ca's walmart is:
Magnavox $298
Samsung bd1500 $348
Sony $388

The samsung bd 1500 specs says that it's profile 1.1, supports bonus view and bd live. so does that mean it is upgradable to profile 2.0??

As a HD DVD supporter I would switch over and buy one for that cost. I respect Samsung and am ready to start buying blu movies.

That's what I thought, but the box lists that it supports bd live.

I'll check that out, maybe I won't have the urge to buy the PS3 after all...
