Superhero Movie...=p

OK...I had seen the previews for Superhero Movie and I got hooked on wanting to watch it...and up until yesterday afternoon (couple of hours after watching IDatKOTCS) I went to the dollar theatre (which makes me realize how good my cheap HTIB sounds) and decided to give this a try...

Yes I know, from the guys who brought you Scary Movie (and some other worse movies like Date Movie, Meet the Spartans and the horrible Epic Movie) isn't a tag we love to hear (or see)...the Drake guy is actually really good in this...the thing is, that the writers (let's call them writers for the sake of it) wanted (?) to rely on the parody stuff and didn't even give a chance for an actual and reliable superhero plot/story I mean, the movie focuses soooo much trying to parody X-Men, Batman and specially Spider-man, that they lost sight at how enjoyable this new superhero could be.

The movie is highly entertaining (unlike many big budget movies nowadays) and the jokes are actually funny, even when many of them rely on recent pop culture (which we all know dates faster than a speeding bullet, right Shrek??), and the rest on the movie parody stuff.

I actually went in thinking that I was getting into another Epic Movie (the movie that shall not be shown again), or Scary Movie but I was fortunate enough to get into something as enjoyable as this. Obviously, it is not Superman, Batman or Spider-man, but can easily compete against Fantastic Four or Daredevil, and blows away such horrendous movies such as Elektra and Catwoman (well, which movie doesn't? Epic Movie). Again, the burden this story carried was the 'parody' that it had to be...and it flew, like the dragonfly it is...by the way, the costume was pretty cool actually...

My friends dragged me, and we walked out. Horrible. I've avoided all of these movies like the plague, and this was a good reminder of why.
