ANyway...I saw my BR copy sitting there picked it up and started to read it over. This is when a Walmart employee aproached and asked me if I needed any help. I kinda chuckled to myself and said "Why yes you can. How many copies of this have you rang up today(holding up Rambo)?" "NONE" was his answer. "ZERO." Suddenly things werent so funny anymore, and it all started to become very clear to me what I had to do.
I put my Blu Ray copy down. Picked up the two disc standard dvd, and purchased it instead. And I left the store feeling beaten.
Until I see change. I think I'm going to suck it up, go with the flow, and be just like everybody else. I don't want to get stuck with another dead format.

This reminds me of something I was thinking of, though. I almost want Blu to die in a year or two, because then I can build up a big collection for next to nothing, like I have with HD DVD. Then I can enjoy that collection, and pick up the next big thing.

View profile »gvortex7-I achieved "FREEDOM" by putting down that BR disc! No more worry for me! I have a disc that is, and will be compatible for along time to come. Upconversion baby!!! (atleast until i'm not the only one standing in the BR isle)

I guess I missed your point. It sounds like you have a Blu-ray player that you are afraid will some day break down and stop playing discs, and you won't be able to replace it or get it fixed, so if Blu-ray dies, you'll be stuck with a load of unplayable discs. Therefore, you're not going to buy another BD disc. Seems to me that there will be a day when we probably won't be able to play regular DVDs, either--in other words, many years from now. In the meantime, as other people here have pointed out, aren't you just stopping yourself from enjoying high-defintion picture and sound?
Well, to each his own. But it appears to me that a perfectly good Blu-ray player may now be going to waste.
