My experience with the BD-P1400 has been a good one. I have owned the unit for three months, never had a single problem. When the player was first released there apparently was problems with it, but these seemed to have been addressed with firmware updates. The load time for the player is roughly 20 seconds or so, which is better than a lot of the other players.

The Panasonic BD-30 seems to get all the love, but in my opinion the Samsung BD-P1400 is a better player. The Samsung has an ethernet port for updates, and it also is able to internally decode every audio codec except DTS-MA....the Panny can only bitstream these. For me this feature is critical as my receiver is only HDMI 1.1 and won't allow me to bitstream the new audio codecs. If you have a HDMI 1.3 receiver capable of decoding the new audio, the Samsung player will ALSO bitstream the audio if you so choose.
