Spike Lee lives in a fantasy world. Hes making a WW2 movie that will be made to his liking. Hes one of those afrocentrists that believes Egyptians were black. Clint dosn't need to take him seriously.

Seriously why hasn't Uwe Boll challenged Spike Lee to a fight?

I think what is even funnier is that Lee was complaining about the lack of blacks in letters from Iwo Jima. Ummm...they're Japanese Spike.

Oh, please. You may hate his politics (and he certainly does come off as a delusional moron), but that doesn't make his movies bad. I hate that. It's just like people (I'm looking at you, Eddie) who say Braveheart or Lethal Weapon are bad movies because they don't like Mel Gibson. You may not want to support them, but that doesn't make the movies themselves bad. Inside Man was one of the best heist thrillers in decades, and Summer of Sam, Do The Right Thing, and 25th Hour are all excellent films. He does indulge himself much too often, but he has made some stand-out movies.

i'm looking right back at you, fakespy.

new knowledge always sheds new light on old situations. before his recent outbursts and incidents (the past ten years, give or take five years), mel gibson seemed like a cool dude. now, it's clear that he's a racist sadist. the contents of his movies reflect his personal outlook--i.e. gibson isn't just playing "characters" but his actual self.

Braveheart's a terrible movie. Mel Gibson is an atrocious director. He's been in several good films as an actor though, esp. Mad Max and some of the Lethal Weapon movies.

Spike Lee has made two good movies: Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X (which is actually 2 movies - a mediocre, excessively show first half, and a brilliant, taught, intimate second half). I haven't liked anything else he's done, though I'm very interested in seeing When the Levees Broke.
