You need to see this one. Actually, you need to hear it. The use of low frequencies and surround effects is outstanding and the DTS-HD (or whatever my Denon mixes it down to) was clear as a bell. The movie was not bad either. On several occasions, it passed and exceeded the drive-the-dog-out-of-the-room test as well as the make-the-wife-jump-off-the-couch test.

EDIT: Available at Xploited Cinema. The extras are in PAL so they will not play on a NA player. From Dutch Filmworks.

Sounds great Steve. Is that a BB/CC purchase? I looked for it on DeepDiscount.com and they only have the SD DVD.

It's an import available at Xploitedcinema.com. Amazon also has the SD.

Hmm, I'll get it from Netflix on SD-DVD.

EDIT: Just moved it up to number 2 in my queue behind SAW IV. Thanks Steve for the recommend, I love R rated vampire movies. I can't remember but there was another movie that sounds simular to this. I forgot the name of it. Now I remember it was called The Breed.

"Tale of A Vampire" (1993) is also outstanding. COMCAST ran it on Fear Net some time back with their usual crappy low byte rate, but even at that, you could tell that it was a very atmospheric and well produced movie. Amazon does has several VHS copies but I don't think it was ever released on DVD, at least not in the US. I don't even have a VHS deck any more, so I guess I'm out of luck.

I have yet to rent it (previously on DVD last year), but Lucy Liu starred in a gruesome 'vampire' flick called RISE: BLOOD HUNTER. Anyone see it?

Isn't she a vampire hunting other vampires? I think I saw the previews for this.

Rise is not exceptional, but for some reason, I really enjoyed it. It's a different twist on the genre - no fangs, therefore the death is much more vicious. Perfect Creature sounds interesting.
