It's a shame that in this day and age we still judge people by their skin tone and not by their actions. What prompted Don Imus to bring race into the equation about Adam (Pac-Man) Jones. Why not judge him by his character and not by his skin tone. What makes this person so sickening is that his excuse is, " My words were miss understood". If you know you've been misunderstood from your previous statement about the Rutgers Girls Basketball team then why choose a topic and comment again in the same manner. A spade is a spade.
Quote:
Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones, who used to be nicknamed Pacman, is "African-American," Imus responded: "There you go. Now we know."

In the face of criticism that ensued, Imus said Monday that he had been misunderstood.

"I meant that he was being picked on because he's black," Imus said in a statement released by his spokesman

If that was the case then why did'nt he say he's being targeted because he's black instead of , "What color is he". I applaud NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for not tolerating conduct detrimental to the league. His motives are certainly not race motivated, but it's people like Don Imus that undermind all of the good things the NFL commissioner is tring to do.

Imus is the same person that made some questionable comments about some cheerleaders not too long ago right?

It takes one comment like that to erase everything that has been done in our society to change misunderstandings and stereotypes amongst different cultures. He should be using his time on the radio to be doing something more positive.

Oy. There's a special circle in hell reserved for Savage (Michael, not Dan), Dobson, Falwell, Phelps, O'Reilly and Imus. Chodes all, as Eddie would say.

Jason, not on the Who's Who list

One day people will stop being sensitive to everything they hear.

And one day people won't continually put their foot in their mouths when they've already been disciplined.

But you are right, in some measure. We are too sensitive to a lot of things. The flipside is the notion words do hurt, regardless of whether we let on or not.

Jason, uncouth?

Tim, you almost made me laugh in a client's ear when I picked up the phone!

Jason, amused
