No Blu-ray edition? Would this not be a perfect movie for HD?

Better than say Fool's Gold?

I rented this movie on dvd and thought the sound was horrible. Could not understand what people were saying as they seemed to be overtaken by surrounding sounds. Did anyone else find this to be.

The movie itself wasn't bad and the girl was a cutie which I was surprised to find out was much younger than she looked. Even more suprised that they would have her kissing Colin at such a young age(15).

Unfortunately, studios are choosing candidates for high-definition release from among their most-recent and most popular movies. They are bypassing films that didn't do so well at the box office or are a few years old. Catalogue items are getting the worst of it. Warner Bros., for example, used to release one or two or three older films a month on HD DVD, but now we are lucky if they release one every three months on Blu-ray. It's all about money and what will sell.

"The New World" had some cool scenes, but it also dragged. I'm not sure if an extended version would really solve that problem. In fact, it would probably make it even worse.

Wow, 11! So John Smith was a sexual predator? Things sure were different back then.

Yeah back then it was common for girls to be married at 12...thankfully things have changed.
