I JUST GOT A SAMSUNG BDP 1500 AND HOOKED IT UP TO MY REAR PROJECTION 1080i hdtv. I AM USING AN HDMI PLUG, BUT THE UP CONVERSION ON THE NEWEST VERSION OF BRAVEHEART IS NOT GOOD. I have not yet put a bluray disc in,but seem to remember my hddvd player upconversion to be much better. Any advice on getting better resolution with the equiptment I have? THANKS

i have the bdp1500. solid player, great for me so far. i agree the upconversion is better on the Tosh players, But i dont own braveheart... so cant say. Atually i dont won much standard stuff, mostly blu and hddvd. so i have not used it to upconver tat much

Nice!! The 1500 is a really good player, I'd say one of the best BD players out on the market. I tested it out at best buy and it's really quick loading the disc and picture is really good. Imma get me one this weekend too!

Hey guys. Just wanted to comment that I noticed amazon.com is selling this player right now for $372. Since they offer free shipping and you don't pay tax it seems like a pretty good deal.

Update: Price has jumped by 3 bucks. Still good deal. I forgot that with amazon prices change almost on a daily basis. If anyone is thinking about getting one and has the money you may want to get it pretty soon. I have a feeling the price will jump up before it jumps back down.

Purchase a Toshiba Super Upconversion DVD player when it becomes available at the end of this year.

Another update. The price has dropped from $375 to $352!!!

That's a big drop. I already have a ps3 but I may have to jump at that price myself.

And in regards to the super upconverting dvd players I actually was looking at them but I just finished piecing together a home theater system and I am spoiled by my hd audio. I don't know if I can go back to dolby digital after hearing all the newer codecs.
