Had HD-DVD won, we would be buying $150 Chinese HD-DVD players right now instead of debating $200 is even possible with Blu-Ray players in the future

View profile »Blu-Ray's victory means a dark future for consumers, where J6Ps are forced to super upconvert DVDs and $200 Blu-Ray Live Players(Required by all new Disney, Warner, and Sony titles from November) are stuff of science fiction.
Had HD-DVD won, $150 HD-DVD players would have started replacing DVD upscalers RIGHT NOW.

View profile »im afraid to say,,you got some real issues
perhaps it would be best if you vacated this site for a while 6mnths to a year
and come back after blu has established better market footing
use this time to SORT YOUR HEAD OUT,next you will be telling us that sony are using high frequency zistatron rays to control peoples minds and pay high prices for blu
if blu stays high, then it will die,im sure the bdra know this and will lower prices when the time comes to lower prices
i fear you may have purchased a top of the line hd-dvd player and atleast 100+ hd-dvd movies
then after selling them on ebay for a stupidly low price, you have never gotten over this, which in turn MAY have caused minor brain damage to the reasoning part of your brain
but be safe in the knowledge
THERE IS HELP OUT THERE,AND YOU CAN GET IT

Jesus...Warner "betrayed" Toshiba? This is little round discs with damn movies on them, not the end of the free world. Mother f'er, get a reality check. (BTW, where's the Sony check proof? Betcha you don't have it...)
Oy vey. Just like HDTV's are not required to watch HD DVD or Blu-Ray Discs, Blu-Ray movies work just fine on existing players. You may not be able to access every single feature, but they still work. So your initial premise is wrong.
So what you're essentially saying is that because Toshiba didn't get its way in the format war (which has been over for roughly four months now), instead of working WITH the industry, they are working AGAINST it? Essentially, they are still crying into their milk that they didn't "win." Good lord, bunch of crybaby's.
Jason, tired of this discussion

sure, just like how you can watch HDTV broadcast on your 20 year old NTSC TV set using a government issued converter.
Toshiba's trying to save us from $500 BD-Live players required to enjoy content after this November.
