Anyone interested in the real news story (not the Meathead madeup headline version), can find it here: http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/147583/sony_puts_network_at_center_of_midterm_strategy.html

It's a good thing that they'll also concentrate on making Blu-ray players with Internet capability Doh.

Another new PS3 service was also announced to compete against the Wii's similar feature: http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/147584/sony_previews_life_with_playstation.html

Thanks Deadmeat. You were told not to post this crap, yet you continue. I expect today is your last day on DVD Town.

Your link reads "Sony Puts Network at Center of Mid-term Strategy" in the headline.

Basically, Sony is shifting to network downloading, because this is the inevitable future.

Why? It was not I who held a big press conference in front of international press to proclaim downloading as the core of Sony's content distribution strategy, it was by Howard Stringer and Hirai Kazuo.

No, you didn't hold the press conference, but you posted misleading information without all the facts. You just twisted it to your own perverse view of things.

So again we have a misleading, anti-BD headline by Deadmeat.

By the numbers:

A) Provide real links to information, not just pictures. You have zero credibility here and your insistence on telling half-truths and withholding information isn't helping.

B) I don't see a mention of "concentrating" anything in the PC World piece. Sony, rightly so, is trying to deliver content to as many people as possible in as many ways as possible. Warner is already doing this. Does that mean Warner or Sony is going to "abandon" BD? Of course not. All these things are additional revenue streams. They'd be idiots to abandon them...or not get them started.

C) Nobody is "shifting" to anything, as I already mentioned. It would be like Skechers (the shoe company) only making black casual shoes and not thinking about producing sneakers or sandals. It's foolish to put all your eggs in any one basket. So you diversify.

D) No one at Sony proclaimed anything. It was a press conference telling journalists about future plans. Good companies do this to get information out there. Even some bad ones do it, too.

E) Dude, if you're half as smart as you claim to be in the other threads, then you'd know putting a picture and one line of "information" here does not cut it. Period. If you wanted to start a discussion, fine. But you knew how this thread would go off the rails before you hit "Post." Therefore, I'd assume you learned nothing from yesterday, not to mention you haven't read the board rules.

Jason, no matter who wins, we all lose
