is may move some blu ray players but many are still waiting on the Star Wars to dive into ray.
I'm sick of buying Star Wars. I'll buy it..but I really don't want too. It has always baffled me as to why these guys like Lucas and Spielberg who LOVE the best in picture and sound quality, wait so damn long to release their best on the best format available?

Is there a version of the boxset that doesn't include Godfather III?
I'll pay extra.

I did not care for the Godfather. I found it insists upon itself.

Don't they have to wait for "the best" format to be invented before releasing on it? I would have loved the godfather to be released on Blu-ray in 1993, but Blu-ray wasn't around yet.
I think the Godfather Blu-ray release is rather fast. With the DVD release, they had to complete a painstaking digital film transfer, so that was understandable.
The Godfather blu-ray release came fast for really one reason: The film restoration process for the godfather was initiated 2 years ago because of the HD-DVD plans that Paramount had.

You're suggesting that Paramount restored the "Godfather" movies because of HD DVD? I believe Paramount started their restoration process while they were still format neutral.
Suprdynamite, didn't we ban you, like, six times for trolling?

Has anyone seen these new restored DVD versions that have apparently been released already in Mexico
I was extremely tempted on gettin it, but i had just bought the previous collection. Picture my face when i found out what the good folks at Paramount did.
So, I decided to wait for the Blu-Ray as well. Although the tin can edition looks very nice.

You seem confused by what I meant. How long did it take Star Wars to reach standard dvd? According to the box art here, it was first realesed in 2004! Standard dvd was released in 97. And in 97, it was the best format available. SO...it took ol' George 7 years to put SW on the best format available at the time. Let's hope it doesn't take another 7 for it to reach the blu. Which is NOW the best format available. It's already been restored, so it should be ready to go NOW.
