Why do 16:10 tv's exist? I wanted a cheap hd tv for the bed room and bought a tv that looked 16:9 but it turns out it is 16:10. What I don't understand is why do these exist? Everything is made to work with 16:9 so things look slightly off, but not to bad.

the only thing i can find on the internet is that widescreen computer monitors are 16:10, so you got something that was originally meant to be used with a computer. you should probably return the TV and get a true TV display.

I bought it at best buy they have alot of them. It does have settings to make things the correct ratio. But that means black bars on the top and bottom when in 16:9 but they are less than 1/3 of an inch. I bought a magnavox. Not the best but cheap. they don't sell it any more but the insignia ones they sell now are 16:10 and the toshiba and other brands all look 16:10. I think it may have something to do with the small size. Looking at best buys pictures on their web site it looks like very few 19 inch tvs are 16:9 even when they say they are

Edit: Its only a 19 inch tv
This says 16:9 but if you look at it i think it is really a 16:10 too
