Actually...they pulled the update. It has wiped out a lot of people's PS3 hard drives, which now have to be sent back to Sony. Ooops!

Really? Wew I dodged that bullet thankfully. I still have my PS3 on version 2.35 and I'm quite happy with it. I'll leave it the way it is until I have some kind of issue that needs an update to be fixed. in the meantime if it ain't broke...

Its only affecting a select amount of users. You can read about it at the official sony ps3 forums. That being said I was busy working late last night and didn't have time to download the update. I too am glad that I didn't download it.

Mine installed and works as well.

However, it is really important that they make sure they work before release. Especially if there is a chance it will brick your PS3 which would require repair. Lets hope they get it fixed soon.

I think that when the news of Trophies and XMB leaked, Sony decided to try and rush it out... honestly I feel they should have held it and worked on cleaning it up and fixing it until E3....
