70% dropoff just seems like a lot to me.

But I just checked and the budget for this movie was only 85 million, which it will have no problem surpassing. I expected it to be 100+.

Tim,

Hellboy dropped 70% from week 1. That's considered catastrophic in the movie biz. It simply got blitzed by Dark Knight. Of course, I also thought it was pretty bad, but I doubt that had anything to do with the drop-off. Just plain bad timing.

Well, no surprise there coming from you, Chris. lol

I know, let's talk about "The Shining"!

Tim - I tease . . . a lot!

EDIT: Wow, you're right Chris, I just checked RT and saw it dropped to #5! That is a huge, unexpected drop! I mean, it got beat by Mamma Mia! How embarrassing .

Tim,

For what it's worth, I didn't care overly much for "HellboyII," either. I thought it looked good, and the character is interesting, but he's one-sided, and the action is nonstop noisy. Even the graphics wore out their welcome for me within a few minutes. (What can I say. I'm probably the only person on the planet who thought "WALL-E" was rather dull. Oh, well....)

"Iron Man," on the other hand, was all about character, and I loved it.

John,

I haven't seen "Hellboy II" yet, so I really can't form an opinion one way or the other. However, if I do end up enjoying it, boy are you going to get it!

Tim - I tease!
