That's because Eddie's night job is stand-up comedy.

Hey guys...

About 6 weeks ago I was given an opportunity to help with the movie entry database and news for DVDTOWN. As you know, this site has a number of volunteers that help part-time in submitting the movie and disc info, plus the News stories and Reviews that you regularly view here. And the data entry is always (constantly) needed, as when you search for a title, sometimes it's either not in the database, or the cover art or complete disc details are not entered/listed in full.

Obviously, this part-time 'work' can be time-consuming, but it's an ongoing endeavour, as every week there are more new titles released (and new editions of catalog tites, TV shows, box sets, etc). While it's not possible to keep up with every release (like Amazon), the volunteers here at DVDTOWN are working to make this site a very informative resource for finding movie info, disc release info, Reviews, and the regular News reports.

For myself, I do not wish to post Reviews, as this site already has at least half-a-dozen very competent reviewers, who possess more talent that I. Writing a decent review is more difficult than you might think, and many of the staff here do a great job (James, John, Jason, Chris, Dean, etc). Since I prefer 'the details' (as seen in many of my past Msg Bd posts), I'd rather help with the movie data and news entires.

I'll still be reading the Msg Bd posts (and occasionally commenting), but the increased time I've spent there in the past can be better used to help improve the data-entry for the movies and news. Feel free to post a note if you notice a title that needs entered, or updated, as myself or another will be sure to get the title in the database (or improve an older entry).

As for the mention of Eddie, remember to visit his site regularly (linked above in this thread), as he's also a talented reviewer (as I've said before), and many of his past reviews for DVDTOWN are here on this site for viewing.

Well, keep enjoying the site, and please recommend it to others.

I'm happy for you Hendrix, but damn I will miss your spew salads on here. It is good to know though that DVD TOWN has added another fine member to its staff.

Thanks for the compliment bladerunner... and I'll try to do an occasional spew salad again here sometime ...and I still really enjoy reading the Msg Bd thread comments by most everyone here (minus the annoying trolls), especially from people like yourself, Tim (of course!), Skyhawk, Falcon, ReaggieP, hoodaguy, mvckalel, kucoloco, and the many others here.

In the future I'll post occasional News stores, some of which will be similar to past threads I started here. Remember to check out the news stories here (linked above at left near the 'Home' tab), as most can then build into a Msg Bd thread, with viewer comments (as we've seen now for awhile).

I used to be a staff member writing reviews and such. However, I like contact with people, so the message boards work much better for me. And since I'm an old member, I get to troll and get away with it!

Now if Henning would just give the job of moderating, all would be complete with the world!

I started this thread because I was wasted on the suds and got really emotional last night. When I come here to the message boards, I always look for what the "good guys" have to say. People with knowledge and humor. Hendrix,Tim, Eddie,Jason, John, Skyhawk, Falcon, Reaggiep, and a few others that I cannot remember how to spell their names.lol. But you know who you are. I find this site to be "pleasant" and unlike others, that sometimes make me feel that humankind has truly lost their minds. I know that we have a certain someone that is wanting to bring his "depression" onto the sight, but we must learn to ignore such fools and hope that they "get it together", or go to a site that warrants their negative behavior. So after saying this, I'm going to 2ND the motion to have TIM RAYNOR as our moderator. We cannot keep losing good guys that contribute positive influence to this message board because they feel as sick as I do about the actions of some sick kid.

i appreciate the kind words and great jokes. writers tend to attract readers who are similar to them in personality, interests, tastes, and demeanor, so the long-timers here are all nice folks. a couple of genuine friendships have developed as a result of dvdtown. for example, tim and i used to beat up on joe/loverboy/hendrix, but i have to admit that joe showed the whole world what a gentleman he is by embracing tim and me as internet buddies. (on the other hand, i do hope that joe votes for obama instead of mccain in november. )

however, this place has also attracted a lot of garbage due to the "hd dvd vs. blu-ray" and "ps3 vs. the whole world" debates. i'm tired of the fighting. i work a demanding job answering phone calls from irate people, and i'm slowly working on grad-school applications. i don't need internet drama in my life, too. therefore, i've generally stepped away from posting in message boards.

btw, chris, i'm playing jason bourne in the next movie.
