First it was Rocky, then it was Rambo and more recently Indiana Jones, and now Tom Cruise is following the eighties remake craze by filming a Top Gun sequel.

Twenty two years after Maverick sang his way into the heart of his instructor Charlie with 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling', the fighter pilot will take to the skies again.

Movie bosses are keen to resurrect the mega-successful 1986 movie, which launched Tom onto Hollywood's A-list and earned $350million worldwide.

Not sure if this is such a good idea.

After "300" was such a hit, it only makes sense to revisit the previous record-holder for most homo-erotic Hollywood blockbuster.

The real question is, will the Ice Man return?

You took the words right out of my mouth, Chris. Top Gun is most gay straight film in Hollywood. 300 is a very close second.

That being said...I LOVE Top Gun. Always have, always will.

Top Gun 2, on the other hand, is a no good, horrible, very bad idea.

Jason, never lost that loving feeling

Does this mean he's on Speaking terms with Paramount again?

Yes he's on speaking terms with Paramount again. In fact a couple of months ago he had lunch with (Redstone I believe?) the guy at Paramount who said he no longer wanted to do anything with Tom.

Anyway, I hope they don't do another volleyball scene with Maverick and Ice Man. Maybe they'll be playing golf instead. :p

Well, if memory serves, didn't Maverick opt to be an instructor at Top Gun? At least I remember him saying something about it in the end of the film. Therefore, the tables will be turned as Mav will be the master and some other hot-shot will be the cocky apprentice. It all sound too predictable and cliché to me. I mean think about it, there has to be some other punk to take Mav's place as the arrogant youngster, so who will it be?

I'm with Jason, it's just a bad idea!
