YO I was at frys a few days ago to check out their sales and as I approached their HD DVD section I noticed that their inventory had grown. The week before there wasn't really a selection to choose from. Most of the movies were Warner movies going for 9.99-11.99. This time they were fully stocked with Warner, Paramount, and Universal titles. A lot of the Universal titles were the French/Canadian versions like the ones I recieved from inetvideo. So this was cool having more selection because I got to get some movies that I didn't have before. I'm not sure if other fry's are restocking but this one sure is.
Another thing which was really interesting was that I saw a new blu ray player in stock. I never heard of the model before but it may be Sony's new player. It wasn't the 350, but the box read S500 Blu-ray. It retailed for 499.99. I asked one of the workers if he had any info on this model or display models to test out. He said he did not know anything about the machine and everyone who worked there had no answers either. How wack is that? Anyways the box had no specs on it. It just had 1080P, 24 frames, blah blah blah. The usual stuff. No profile indication, specs. audio, nothing. The only thing I got from the workers was, "uh we get blu ray players but they go out fast!" Yea thanks for the help asshole, hah, but anyways, is this Sony's 2.0 stand alone player? Has anyone seen this before?

The S500 is one of Sony's old models. You can see it at Amazon.com here.
The new models are called S350 and S550 and you can read more about them in one of our previous news post.

Oh, thanks Henning. I was wondering what the model number for that machine was. I knew that couldn't have been sony's new machines but thanks for confirming that.
