Hi Guys,

I'm not trying to start anything by posting this. But, I found the article well written and on Amazon of all places. For those that are interested in Toshiba's line-up for this fall.

No he did not. I was actually looking for sales on HD DVD's on Amazon and stumbled across this post. I thought I'd share it. That is all.

i'm interested in super upconversion as it'll help to extend the shelf life of movies that won't be released in high-def any time soon, but if one of the machinese costs more than an hd dvd/blu-ray player, then i'm sure that most people will take a pass on the technology.

Well written article (message board post)? Sorry, I just couldn't read anything past the first sentence.

Hmm... let me guess who the author is ...

Who? Do you know who wrote it? It's funny that you haven't posted in like two weeks, and I find it ironic that in almost two weeks that a topic such as this shows up, and bamn you post! That I find hillarious!

I think the G1 players will probably cost more, since it's new technology. Hopefully not over $500 though, and if so, I'll be over it when it comes out if it can my my DVD collection look close to HD. I'm really curious as to how well it'll work.

yeah..me too. like how is it going to improve poorly mastered dvd's? how is it going to rid the picture of excess noise, grain, edge enhancement,pixelation,artifacts...and turn those discs into gold?

well, bladerunner, that won't really be possible. as we've seen with superbit dvds, hd dvds, and blu-ray discs, if the source sucks, then the added bits and resolution only makes the flaws all the more apparent. any sort of upconversion looks good only if the source looks good.
