Has anyone heard if/when they will release this on Blu??? It was an HD-DVD before their demise.

I have the collector's edition HD-DVD too (bought super cheap on eBay after WB pulled out support for HD-DVD. I kept the goodies, metal case and sold the wothless (to me) HD-DVD Disc.

Yeah, I got the Collectors Edition for like 25 dollars on Ebay. There's nothing better then young Leslie Nielsen in HD. The funny thing is that today I look at it as a comedy... but it was 30 years before Nielsen even decided to do comedy.

The collector's HD-DVD is part of my collection as well - excellent quality and features. Don't worry, whenever Warner makes the announcement, someone here will make mention of it - also remember to always check DVDTOWN News.

Forbidden Planet was probably the biggest formative movie event of my nerdy Junior High School days. I can trace my current love of sci-fi back to that film as well as to This Island Earth and When World's Collide, neither of which you will ever see on hi-def unfortunatly. Watching Leslie Neilson in FB is of course a real trip but so isn't the Shakespearean connection to the film.
Off topic: You can pick up the 6 episode Anchor Bay SD set of Masters of Science Fiction for short money. The themes are a little left wing, but all in all, its not a bad watch. The Discarded is REALLY good.

StevePro, I don't doubt we'll see at least When Worlds Collide on Blu-ray eventually. Paramount Home Video released this on laserdisc after all.
