So what do you get when you pay $200 for a cellphone, without any rebates, nor a chance to owner-replace its battery without shelling AT LEAST $59 for Apple tech-service, while -at the same time- paying THE HIGHEST AMOUNT of monthly cellphone rates, compared to other competitors (using the same features)... AND STILL GET BOGGED DOWN BY AT&T's OLD NETWORK, because it's 3G network doesn't work? A boatload of SUCKERS. The MAJORITY of iphone/at&t subscribers took the bait when Apple's marketing machine promised FASTER NETWORK SPEED, at lower Iphone cost. Unfortunately, monthly iphone subscriber cost INCREASED from this combination 2.0 features.
Too bad the deal was only half-promised. Now Apple is blaming it's iphone German chipmaker -infenion brand-, while the chipmaker blames at&t, for its network (mis)handling of millions of NEW subscribers... Whatever the reason, 3G network simply DOESN'T WORK, for the amount of cost the iphone members are shelling out each month.

Some are speculating a SOFTWARE UPGRADE to fix the folly, while some are HOPING a iphone RECALL, to replace some faulty parts... should it ACTUALLY be proven faulty. Below are just one of many links regarding the Iphone/3g issues spreading the net. So you bought the new iphone, how's that 3G network goin' for ya?

I almost went to at&t with iphone in mind earlier this month, until this type of news has been slowly trickling down the wire, even on our LOCAL TV NEWS networks. It seems to be more than an isolated incident. After banging heads with my local at&t vendor, and further tinkering with an iphone-wanna-be, I've decided to renew with at&t with this phone, having MORE FEATURES than the iphone, & MEMORY UPGRADE potential, including a GENEROUS LCD screen. The sale that closed the deal: THE PHONE IS FREE! Oh yeah, it also uses the 3G network, including lcd touch-screen features, PLUS optional TV broadcast (which I like the best) that does not rely on internet connection. So far, phone reception to all places that I've expected it to work... has worked.

I will answer to trolls and FUD, I LOVE the iPhone...

What do you get for $200?? A touchscreen cell phone with just three extra buttons (home, volume, power [the other one is a silence switch])...
In fact, this phone is easier to use than ANY PDA type phone talking from experience, of course.
A camera, iTunes, hundreds of apps to download (many free)...and a great GPS/Maps system...if you want more, again, download apps.
Of course it has negative things (just like everybody else): there is no zoom on the camera, there is no video camera, there is still a backup problem that takes hours to do (you can cancel it anyways), and the battery life is not that good.
You worry about plan prices? Yes, it is more expensive than your regular average phone, but you get what you pay for. The internet (3G) is fast, and the GPS is reliable enough...
What more do you want? I'm a happy iPhone user even when I've been having problems with apps crashing for the past couple of days...but the ease of use and the easy interface make up for it...really...

Quote:So is every iphone clone! The BEST PDA cellphone out there - The Blackberry. No contest.

Quote:Iphone clones DOES HAVE their negatives, as well... BUT NOT AS BAD AS THE IPHONE. I can buy a 3rd party battery on ebay, for as low as $7 & replace my old LG VU battery, while iphone owners have to pay over $85 (including shipping) to have their iphone battery replaced! Yes, your iphone data WILL BE ERASED. As for memory, iphone users ARE STUCK with 8gb, my iphone clone accepts MicroSD cards up to 8gb. FULLY REPLACEABLE.

Quote:Apparently you're missing the point of this thread- the advertised 3G for the iphone does not work. At least for the amount subscribers pay. Many are willing to pay the at&t higher cost, PROVIDED THE SERVICE WORK! Correct, iphone losers get what they paid for.

I do get 3G...when I don't, it's because I basically live outside 'normal' city limits...
What are you trying to accomplish with this thread? Supposedly make us iPhone users realize that we are overpaying what? Is not like we were held at gunpoint to buy an iPhone??...
...again, the iPhone is the easiest to use phone that I've had, ever.
Now you should start rambling about Windows Vista...that would interesting...

I bought the SAMSUNG Instinct through sprint and I love that phone. Came with a 2gb Micro SD card I upgraded it to an 8gb. Chip was free when I purchased a digital camera at CC.
I was anti-iPhone, or any clone like iPhone, but when I changed jobs the free company provided Blackberry was no longer an option so I needed osmething with all the perks, and the instinct was a good deal because I receive 20% off because my former job was partnered with Sprint/Nextel, and I bought it 1 day before I left the company. So my phone cost me like $180.00 total, and I would never trade it for anything.

I'm still debating whether I want an iPhone or not... that LG does look pretty tasty. Either way it's still until February when my current contract is up.
Does the iPhone not feature Vibration? That's actually a bit of a thing for me.
